Scar help- any suggestions please

DD(11) had an accident where she fell nearly put a pole and her teeth just below her bottom lip. Thankfully it mostly healed up beautifully but she has been left with a small circular patch of slightly pink skin, looks a bit like the new skin you get under a scab. It doesn't appear to be fading. It's not bad but she is a bit self conscience

Is bio oil - or anything else - worth a shot as it isn't your normal scar? Also any suggestions as to how to cover it with (light) make up?

Pic needed of patch.

My dd fell into a bike and the handle bar went into her cheek - used bio oil after the stitches came out and no scar is visible at all. She is really pale and freckly and no change of skin tone at all now.

Rosehip oil was the thing that worked best to fade a scar on my face. Vitamin e oil (high tocopherol) was the best thing to help it heal.

Silicone gel or patches are the only thing clinically proven to help as far as I know. Other than more invasive options anyway.

Vitamin E is really bad for scars apparently!

If I had name changed first I could photograph it. Amazon prime-ing the other suggestions now

I really rate bio oil

EmmaC78 · 25/05/2017 20:46

Yes Bio-oil does work. I had a terrible scar on my leg and you can;t see it at all now.

Sunscreen is very important.
