Bloody typical isn't it. I now look like I have a Roman nose.

Any ideas on how to stop this Mount Versuvius getting bigger and redder?

Slap some toothpaste or sudocream on overnight

I know we're not supposed to pick/squeeze but mine don't go away unless I attack them first! The best and cleanest method of extraction is to prick with a sterilised needle, gently squeeze, clean then dab with Sudocrem. If you can get your hands on some Benefit Boo Boo Zap and apply throughout the day, the bugger will have gone by Thursday
