Cotton nighties for dd(7)

PassiveAggressiveLunchbox · 21/05/2017 21:47

Dd(7yo) needs new nighties and I can't seem to find anything other than sweaty polyester. Cath Kidston has two, but they are ££. Boden is a mix. Next, debenhams and m&s are all polyester. Will I resign myself to buying 10-11yo t-shirts?

White Company always do lovely 100% cotton ones.
Mine all very tactile and love cotton.
Although DD is 16 now she wore them for years and then handed them on to DGodDaughters.

H&M?

PassiveAggressiveLunchbox · 21/05/2017 22:03

None in h&m today, I'll check the website. Couldn't see any on the white stuff website. I'll look again.

I got some lovely nighties for my DD from Maxomorra - I think it's a Swedish brand. 95% organic cotton.

Google Powell Craft nightwear for girls, really beautiful cotton nighties - we have quite a few and they wash well, don't shrink and are very comfy.

Childrensalon sell them but I think they are on loads of sites.

I got some really cute ones for dd here. They're long and old-fashioned but in a good way!

She's only 2 though so not sure if they'll be acceptable to a 7yo.

RedLemonade · 21/05/2017 22:42

Eek. That link isn't quite right but if you search "cotton nightdress" it'll bring up kiddie stuff.

AngelicaSchuylerChurch · 21/05/2017 22:44

Yes to White Company. Disappointing that Boden has gone to a mix - they were still doing lovely 100% cotton at Christmas and they were one of the last bastions. Monsoon used to do 100% but have gone the same way.

They are really difficult to find and it's all to do with fire regulations - nighties have to have different fire treatments because they waft more than pjs.

AngelicaSchuylerChurch · 21/05/2017 22:45

Incidentally - eBay is good for previous season Boden which should still be 100% cotton.

MissWimpyDimple · 21/05/2017 23:19

Powell craft do really lovely cotton children's nightwear. Old fashioned but in a sweet way.

bleughhh · 22/05/2017 13:45

Was about to say Powell Craft. And the White Company! Expensive but v nice and worth it. John Lewis is awful. I guess it's all to do with the flammability issues but not nice to sleep in!

PassiveAggressiveLunchbox · 22/05/2017 18:03

Thanks I'll check out the suggestions. I went on the h&m website and actually found a couple of very simple cotton dresses that I've ordered a size up for her to get started. For €4 each I figure I can't go too far wrong!
