Any suggestions for what to wear to a lunch get together for my MILS 90th birthday. I dont care for black. I am a bit overweight at a size 16 and large bust.. I like stuff from finery and Hobbs but I am drawing a blank on what to get. I don't really want troussers but on the other hand I am not against it either. Just not no 1 choice I guess. It will be the entire family and last time we were all together is 13 years ago at FILs funeral.. So I would like to look smart but not wanting to be over dressed as MIL will likely go with a traditional 2 piece..

I can be a bit flexible with the budget but I would rather not spend £300 on something I wont ever wear again if that makes sense?

I haven't seen Finery before. Thanks for the introduction. I'm not good at choosing outfits, so can't help. Lots of others will be able to lend you a hand though.

Will it be a formal lunch venue or somewhere relaxed?

It willl be more relaxed but within a formal venue if that makes sense.

I love finerys stuff and have a bit of it it tends to satisfy my wish for something a bit quirky without being outlandish

I was out with extended family for afternoon tea at a country house hotel on Saturday. Wore a blue and white striped midi skirt, black ankle strap heels, a black top and a jersey biker jacket. Felt great - comfortable, quite funky and flattering.

Not dissimilar to this look.
