I have been very depressed and piled on the weight in the last two years. My brother is getting married in August and i cant put off trying to find an outfit any longer. I am 5ft and a size 22. My bust is mahoosive. Can you lovely ladies help me. I don't need any negative comments. I have tried Lindybop etc and i look ridiculous.

What are your best bits? Luscious hair, lovely ankles, nice wrists? What bits do you dislike and want to cover up? What general shape are you and what do you normally wear?

professorvape · 21/05/2017 15:38

1950s style dress would look amazing.

Not true
They depend on having a slim waist and look great on hourglasses

Have a look at Anna Scholz designs. She is one of the best people I have found for beautiful dresses, they are very flattering and well made. She has her own label available at www.anascholz.com but the clothes are pricey. She also works with Sheego at Curvissa www.curvissa.co.uk/fashion/anna-scholz-for-sheego/_/N-1iZ1z140lr.
However I buy most of my dresses by her from ebay. There are lots of new items on there and also her on Black and White label stuff is very well made. Be aware that she also had a line with Simply Be for a while - also well designed but the fabrics are cheaper.
You'll probably find you need to drop at least one size - so a 20 or even an 18.

What styles/colours do you like wearing?
Which bits do you like to highlight?

ASOS have got some gorgeous bits in. I also have a huge bust and find an off the shoulder style or shallow V to be most flattering.

Some options:
sequin
lace
drape
wrap
red

Sorry my link didn't work.
Found this it comes in many colours and looks like it would flatter any shape.

Thank you everybody i will have a good look at the link. I am struggling to think of any good bits of my figure. I have nice ankles I guess and good skin but i am just the wrong side of 50 and i am starting to look older. I tend to wear loose fitting tunics at the moment. I was hoping to lose weight but realistically that isnt going to happen. My budget is up to £300 and i struggle to wear heels now as the ADs i am on affect my balance. I prefer darker colours .

The jaques vert one is lovely - get yourself to bravissimo for s decent bra, it will make all the difference. Spend some of that budget on getting your make up, eyebrows and a nice spray tan, nails so you feel good about yourself. I know it's hard, but pamper yourself a bit and keep your chin up.

PerspicaciaTick · 21/05/2017 19:07

yy - definitely spend a bit of your (generous) budget to invest in properly fitting bra. It will make your waist look smaller and your boobs neater.

pinkpetrol · 21/05/2017 19:25

Wow there are so many nice clothes in larger sizes. Thank you everyone- since putting on weight i find myself just buying tents from the supermarket and wearing trainers. I think a little credit card shopping is order. Thank you all for being so kind.
