Jeans for apples?

Despite losing 5 stone, I still have No Waist At All Sad Also seem to have forgotten how to dress myself, and am convinced I'm still a scruffy student and in denial about turning 40 last year! Think I'm in need of a couple of pairs of jeans, but having difficulty finding anything flattering. 5ft6, size 10-12, no waist, no bum, and chunky calves like a rugby player. Finding that skinny/slim jeans don't stay up and also get stuck on big calves. Help oh wise MN-ers please - where do other apple shapes buy comfy flattering jeans/trousers?

Have you tried Gap girlfriend? They're great on my apple shape (including giant calves)

burnishedsilver · 19/05/2017 14:24

Zara 'mid rise distressed skinny' are the best fit I've found in ages. They're not really distressed - the top of the pockets is slightly frayed.

Reckon it'd be good to go to a proper jeans place and try loads and loads on.

You might need some nice belts too.

Congratulations.

Brax Mary Sport (jeans and chinos) have 'more space at waist' and slim over the thighs...

Piffpaffpoff · 19/05/2017 14:41

I get on well with M&S lift and sculpt straight leg.

kshaw · 19/05/2017 14:45

I like Dorothy Perkins Eden range

bojorojo · 19/05/2017 15:50

I think m and S boyfriend fit don't have much of a waist. Try all of theirs!

TarquinsMama · 19/05/2017 19:06

Thanks for suggestions, lots to try out. Oh bugger, I'm going to have to [gasp] go into town, aren't I? Shudder. I hate going shopping. Maybe that's why I have no clothes that I like [lightbulb] Grin

I'll tell you what, Tescos premium leggings have been a revelation, I tell you.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 19/05/2017 21:01

Jeggings! Fuck you autocorrect!

BritabroadinAsia · 20/05/2017 11:48

Try M and S relaxed slim, good for fellow no-swishers. I get the short as I like the ankles out look but you could try the medium or long versions?

BritabroadinAsia · 20/05/2017 11:51

Fellow no-swishers? No. Not at all.
Fellow no-waisters!

Wallis trousers with the side zip and stretch are wide on the waist and snug-ish on the hips. Often if trousers fit me on the waist they look like jodhpurs on the hips. This sort of thing. I usually need to go down a size.

BusterGonad · 20/05/2017 11:59

I'm an apple with skinny legs though! I've worn Dotty Ps Eden, River Island Molly jeggings. Topshop are always good. I go for a mid to high rise to hold my belly in and give me a waist.

SesameSparkle · 20/05/2017 14:21

I'm apple too, high waisters with belt loops are your friend. I like topshop Jamie's. I also wear topshop joni, but they don't have belt loops so I do need to hoick them up from time to time. I've got into oasis too before. Fat face and white stuff are also cut for apples, though they are a bit too roomy on the hips for me.

Yes, you are going to have to go shopping..... Keep your mind focused on the prize..... Grin
