I've not bought anything from Seasalt for a few years but the 3 tops I do have still look as good as new and wash wonderfully. I'll have to try their actual shop because I am also put off by the catalogue and online modeling.

Someone up thread mentioned Espirit and I have recently bought two cotton t-shirts from them. One is a plain white which is thick and NOT see through. The other has a bit of shaping around the bust.

I have a t-shirt from TU which is organic cotton. I bought it years ago to wear for sports and I now wear it with PJ bottoms. I noticed how good the quality and shape is this morning. It's a long time since I have seen anything like that in Sainsburys.

I still can't find any tops for work though. I need tops that are smart casual. Somewhere between a t-shirt but not a fully button up shirt or blouse with a collar. It's a relief to find this thread because my DH thinks the problem is me I'm forever ordering clothes and shoes and sending them back - then complaining always that I have nothing to wear. I want to see clothes that I love again. Instead I walk around department stores looking for some things that 'will do' and buying the best of the bunch, only to not particularly like it. I could throw my whole wardrobe away tomorrow and would only miss a few items. But I can't do that because I'd only be able to replace it with more 'that'll do' items that I am forced to buy because I have to wear something.

So the Wrap tops I paid £18 to have delivered to Ireland were..... TOO BLOODY SHORT! So, so annoying. I actually measured them and they were about 3.5 cm shorted than the website described. After several phone calls they say they will refund my postage both for having them sent to me and for returning them. It's so disappointing though, they were lovely quality apart from that.

I have ordered a few tops from Poetry instead and they are PERFECT, long enough, comfortable, look great. Thank you to everyone who mentioned them!

I'd recommend Esprit, as well. They have lots of stuff in cotton, their viscose is the better kind of viscose, IYSWIM, and their stuff usually washes and lasts well.
This is fairly classic, but well cut, and has been complimented (sorry, French website, as I'm in a hurry, but you can find the stuff on the UK version).
This kind of style and this, too are what I wear to work. I don't work in a v formal environment, though, but these are a good halfway between relaxed and workwear for me.
They have a good range of jeans, too, organised by cut (disclaimer: I've not actually looked at the UK website, but am presuming it's the same as the French one).
I'm currently wearing a pair of their linen trousers, in a jeans cut rather than the ubiquitous saggy, baggy style with an elastic waist, that I bought 4 years ago, and they are great.

But to me, all those esprit tops are completely shapeless. The shops are full of this stuff straight up and down stuff. I want tips that have a fitted shape. A waist. And / or a bust.

Just to say Mintychops that delivery to Ireland needn't cost so much. If you sign up to Parcel Motel and buy from websites that do free UK delivery, they give you a NI address and then deliver to one of their drop zones for about 3-4 euro. I don't know about the rest of the country but is v convenient if you live in Dublin.

Post thing which delivers from the UK to my local post office for €3.95, I used it when I made my Poetry order. I should have done it years ago! As an aside, is Brexit going to bugger up our online shopping
