Tubing mascara. Please talk to me about it!

It sounds like this may well get round the problem of mascara spending the day trying to escape down my sad old face. I have used one in the past, but I didn't think it gave my lashes much volume. Do I have to choose between lash-volume and smeary or thin lashes but stays-in-place? Also, is this better than conventional waterproof mascara? (Always believed that it wasn't great for my lashes). TIA.

Tubing mascara is brilliant. I have really oily skin including eyelids so it's the only thing that works for me. I love two; Clinique flutter to full and L'Oréal double extension. Both give lots of volume with the Clinique one being adjustable.

elephantcuddles · 16/05/2017 20:25

I have tried the L'Oréal which was good. But you have to be careful to avoid clumpy looking lashes with it. I've also heard good things about blinc mascara.

IncognitoAvocado · 16/05/2017 20:26

There is a DHC one which is fantastic. It has a very dainty brush and lets you layer it up.

Watching with interest (and bump)

Farmerswife1986 · 16/05/2017 20:34

Blinc is amazing! Highly recommend it!'

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 16/05/2017 20:39

Thanks all. Anyone used the no 7 one and can compare with any of the others please?

I have the No7 one and tbh i dont love it. Yes it stays on but it is a very minimal lash kind of look Sad
Am going to check out some of these other recommendations...

CherylVole · 16/05/2017 21:02

i have a better tip. Get eyelash extensions, then you don't need mascara

imjessie · 16/05/2017 21:10

What does the tubing bit mean?

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 16/05/2017 21:14

Thanks. Tubing means it coats each eyelash in a plastic-y substance, and stays on, until in contact with hot or warm water, I think.

I use the number 7 Stay Perfect one. I like it, it makes my lashes look good and it does stay perfect, but I find my eyelashes feel a bit sore if I touch them, almost like they are stuck together and it is pulling on them. I don't always wear make-up maybe I'm just a wimp!!

nbee84 · 16/05/2017 21:24

Another vote for Blinc - I 1st bought it about 4 years ago after recommendations on here and haven't used anything else since.

TobleroneBoo · 16/05/2017 21:25

Love my No7 one but agree it doesn't give much volume and is hard to layer

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 16/05/2017 21:38

Thanks. Might give the Loreal one a go, as I think I need the volume. Will resist the current no 7 offer I think! Also, I must use the one I've got first if I get a new one I'll start on that before the old one is used up :)

I love the blinc one...it's also hilarious when your 17 yr old borrows it and has to confess because she didn't know it was tubing mascara and couldn't work out how to get it off Grin

JDSTER · 16/05/2017 21:57

I've got Clinique lash power. I really like the look of it when it's on but can't get it off without losing several eyelashes in the process! Can you advise?

namechange20050 · 16/05/2017 22:25

I wouldn't bother with the no7 one; it stays on ok but hardly gives any volume.

The mascara should just come off with warm water.

JDSTER · 16/05/2017 22:27

Tried just the warm water- still the lashes come out!

Niminy · 16/05/2017 22:44

Estée Lauder double wear mascara is good - comes in several versions incl volume.

nbee84 · 16/05/2017 23:00

JD- it looks like your lashes have come out but what you see are the individual tubes that have been coating your lashes.

olderthanyouthink · 16/05/2017 23:05

I had the Clinique curling one and then the No7 on, Clinique is better.

imjessie · 17/05/2017 07:33

Ah thanks sponge bob ... by the name I just thought it meant it was delivered differently .!

Fozzleyplum · 17/05/2017 08:50

I use of Clinique High Impact curling - it does what the name suggests, but doesn't look extreme.
