Where do you buy your work clothes on a budget?

I've looked in Primark and New Look and there was nothing I liked at all.

I'm a size 14/16 and really want some nice tops and dresses to wear for work.

I'm on a budget so I can only look at highstreet.

Gap? They have a good sale on at the mo, lots of stretch trousers and shirts etc..

hellybellyjellybean · 15/05/2017 20:10

Tesco, Sainsbury's, dotty p's and h and m

NapQueen · 15/05/2017 20:11

Im 31, 5'2 and a 14. I buy from Sainsbos, H&M and Tesco.

ShotsFired · 15/05/2017 20:13

Sainsbury's as I hate clothes shopping with a passion and I can get groceries at the same time. And an 8p fuel coupon as well.

Or M&S if I have to.

Both size generously which may also be a reason...

KP86 · 15/05/2017 20:14

Everything5pounds.com can be good.

MrsSeptember · 15/05/2017 20:16

Ah I hadn't even thought about sainsburys and Tesco!
I daren't go to H&M as the sizing is so strange.

sainsbury's, uniqlo

EggysMom · 15/05/2017 20:17

Trousers from Primark.

Tops used to be Primark but I haven't found anything I like for two years now; so most commonly Asda George, occasionally Sainsburys.

DiamondsAreForHeather · 15/05/2017 20:18

H&M, TK Maxx and the charity shops.

fruitpastille · 15/05/2017 20:20

I love H&M. I'm 12-14 and medium usually fits me if it helps. The tops/dresses that is. Trousers and skirts usually have UK sizes on the label. Be brave :-)

skyzumarubble · 15/05/2017 20:20

Sainsbury's!

MidCenturyist · 15/05/2017 20:24

Mostly Tesco for skirts, trousers, shirts etc. Also Zara basic range is reasonable and good for basic dresses/ cardigans etc. I have some shift dresses I've had from there for years which are worn every week.

OneOfTheGrundys · 15/05/2017 20:28

Sainsbury's is good and washes well. The Zara basics are also good value and a nice cut. I've found M&S to be good for the capsule stuff like black trousers, pencil skirts. I buy a lot on eBay too. Size 14 M&S always fits me well and I've had work skirts form there for a fiver that are brilliant.

We do an EverythingFivePounds group shop at work every so often so we can share delivery.

SellMySoulForSomeSleep · 15/05/2017 20:29

Asda, love their stuff.

MozzchopsThirty · 15/05/2017 20:44

Uniqlo stuff is amazing washes really well no ironing require

PacificDogwod · 15/05/2017 20:50

Ebay, new and used stuff Grin

I find it's where I get good quality, all natural fibres, good names (top end high straight, few designery bits) for reasonable money.
I admit I also like the recycling aspect of it and I hate, hate, hate disposable clothing.

Having said that, I also discovered Baukjen in the last year - not cheap, but good sales (and comes up on eBay from time to time...).

Groovee · 15/05/2017 21:03

My trousers are M&S. My tops range from asda/Tesco/M&S

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 15/05/2017 21:07

Matalan

CointreauVersial · 15/05/2017 21:08

Charity shops are excellent for classic work clothes - tailored trousers, skirts, and smart shirts.

I'm currently wearing a silk top from Massimo Dutti, a pair of black cropped trousers from Zara and a cardigan from M&S. All from charity shops!

www.everything5pounds.com/en/Womens/Dresses/Office-Dresses/c/clothing-dresses-office-dresses. Read the reviews to check on fit. I have 3 work dresses from here gorgeous

Farmerswife1986 · 15/05/2017 21:26

I love next and H&M for office clothes xx

hollieberrie · 15/05/2017 21:33

Mainly Ebay, some H&M & charity shops. I basically look at Hush styling or ideas on Pinterest and then try to recreate from H&M and Ebay. I have a pretty minimal wardrobe though.

piddleypower · 15/05/2017 21:45

sgtmajormum · 16/05/2017 19:27
