Cream blusher - how do you apply it properly??

Stupid question, and I'm embarrassed at the ripe old age of 48 to ask, but how on earth do you apply & blend cream blusher without rubbing your foundation underneath off?! I carefully apply primer, base, concealer, all looks good, gingerly tap on a bit of cream blush and bam! All that hard work gone! Tell me O Wise Ones, how? How??

I just use my fingers to kind of pat it on. Then blend edges with my foundation brush. Saw lisa eldridge do it this way in one of her you tube vids. It might have been the one with rosie h-w.

Yes it was, and I've tried doing it that way. Doesn't look the same on me!

I use a Stila cream blush and apply with a stippling make up brush.

Ok Ive got a stippling brush so I'll try it with that. Using fingers just seems to rub the whole lot off!

Use a stippling brush, then blend with fingers. Setting powder on top. Job's a good 'un.

I use Daniel Sandler watercolour blush. It kind of glides over the skin. I wear quite a lot of foundation and always had the same problem op with cream blusher. Liquid blush is amazing.
