What to wear!?

I'm off on a hen weekend tomorrow and we have been instructed that we need dresses for Friday night as we're going out for cocktails. It is ages years since I last had a night out where dresses were required. Should I be going for short and heels or maxi and flats. What do people wear for this sort of thing?

I don't know. Which part of the problem the bridesmaids (brides sisters) have organised it we are going to be in Bournemouth area/ itself but I don't know the area or where we are going when there. Just instructions of dresses and going for cocktails. Which just adds to my dilemma. There hasn't been talk of dancing, not the brides sort of thing.

I would go for maxi and flats only because I feel more comfortable than in a shorter dress and heels.
If you put your hair up and wear some nice jewellery you will feel great.

Thanks Emily. I would be most comfortable that way just don't want to look like the frumpy mum of three that I feel I am when everyone else is childless and younger. But if maxis are acceptable then definitely think that's a good option.
