Help! I need trousers!

Please oh wise MNers...
I desperately need some trousers for work, I'm thinking straight leg / slim fit but not skinny or jeans type material. Need to fit with our smart casual dress code. I'm only 5'2 so trousers always seem really long. I'm probably about a size 12 bottoms but since having a back injury my weight / shape has changed a lot so I just don't know!

Any ideas?

I got some very nice chinos in Benetton recently. Slim but not skinny and hold their shape well. Length is good for me, I'm also 5'2.

My DD has to look v smart and loves LK Bennett. Not cheap but very well cut and flattering. Shapes change though. Other possibilities are Hobbs, M and S, and Massimo Dutti.

H and M cigarette trousers are great. I am 5,7 and they are 7/8 length on me I would think they'd be full length on you. The black floral pattern is perfect for a summer smart casual look. I wore them to work this week and got lots of compliments. Leave ego at the door when sizing Blush

I think a trouser in a subtle colour looks more sophisticated and classier.
Black trousers and a top are the go too outfit. But black is a very draining colour.

Those grey trousers are lovely but on me would look wrong because I'm a bit dumpy. I will have a look in H&M, didn't really consider there as last time I went in it was all skinny stuff.

Will also look at LK, don't mind price so much if they are good quality. Would happily buy one or two really good pairs if they lasted.

Thanks all!!

I bought some Gap slim cropped trousers recently (they call them slim cropped pants). They're very flattering.

Go to Uniqlo. They have lots of styles and if they're over £19 they'll take them up for free on the same day otherwise it's still only £3.

Wallis petite. I am 5'3" and I swear they are the only make which are exactly right and don't end halfway up my leg or sweep the floor. They do a lot of "smart casual" type of trousers.

I second Wallis Petite or Dorothy Perkins have some nice straight leg ones - I got a pair in the sale last week with a small dogtooth print that are nice and light for the summer months and they are a lovely fit. I am 5ft 2.
