For a Business networking event? I'm on a tight budget. Would be in navy :

What sort of business are you in? It looks too eveningy to me, but it depends on your industry.

AnyFucker · 09/05/2017 21:01

For the day time ?

Nasty.

dramaqueen · 09/05/2017 21:03

Where I work people tend to be in normal business dress for evening networking, but that is London where you go straight from work. Outside London I would probably wear a simple dress with sleeves, no jacket.

I think that is too much like a party dress.

An evening event I should have added! Open bar, hotel type venue, I won't know anyone there except my director, It's real estate.

And it's not straight after work, will be in the evening (and in Hong Kong if that makes a difference? )

Better for an evening do but still don't like it

Pancaker · 09/05/2017 21:07

Looks fine to me

fiorentina · 09/05/2017 21:07

I wouldn't wear that. I would add more accessories to a plain navy or black dress and change shoes to sandals if you wanted to. But up to you how you feel comfy.

Stoneagemum · 09/05/2017 21:09

Only with a jacket over to hide the sleeves and be mindful of the height of the heels in relation to the length of the hem

Loyly · 09/05/2017 21:10

It looks like a dress for a night out and I don't think it looks professional, sorry.

Silverdream · 09/05/2017 21:12

It's quite short for a works do. I wouldn't say it's suitable for any work situation.

HeddaGarbled · 09/05/2017 21:14

No, too short and too form-fitting for a business event.

101dalmationspots · 09/05/2017 21:14

Thank you for honest opinions! If anyone can help me find a dress I'd really appreciate it? I'm a 10/12 small waist but mum tum, massive boobs, don't like the top of my arms. Preferably a dark colour? Tight budget.. I'm at a loss It's my first big work event and I want to make a good impression and not offend anyone with a short skirt but not overdressed either. Stressing out Sad

bialystockandbloom · 09/05/2017 21:19

Too short and too lacy, sorry. I'd probably go for something like this perhaps in a darker colour if you don't want too clingy.

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 09/05/2017 21:19

I don't know what size you are, but what about this:

gojettersgo · 09/05/2017 21:19

Have a look at Closet London on Asos. Their stuff is good when it's reduced.

bialystockandbloom · 09/05/2017 21:20

this? or too boring?

Intransige · 09/05/2017 21:21

What about something like [[http://m.asos.com/city-goddess/city-goddess-3-4-sleeve-waterfall-peplum-midi-dress/prd/7032257
this]]?

Emphasise · 09/05/2017 21:21

Unless it's a black tie thing, I'd do normal business attire

bialystockandbloom · 09/05/2017 21:22

Sorry I missed that it's evening, and in HK - inside with airconditioning? otherwise might be humid so I'd avoid synthetic material!

101dalmationspots · 09/05/2017 21:22

Bialy I like that but not in available in my size. Can't open the Debenhams links?

OP posts:
bialystockandbloom · 09/05/2017 21:23

this Massimo Dutti one?

Aducknotallama · 09/05/2017 21:23

I don't like it, sorry. Too short, too lacy and not flattering on most people.

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 09/05/2017 21:28

Sorry, Xpost. None in your size. Can you go in and try in the shop or are you stuck with online?
