Help me find some shoes for work.

My (basic short boot black flat) work shoes are worn out.
Replacement pair needs to work with bare legs or black leggings or jeans.
Flats only.
My feet & ankles get cold. I need to wear lots of sock, even socks are unfashionable to be visible. Thank goodness, dressing like a dork is fairly ok where I work :).

There was a suitable style of cute small shoe everywhere a few yrs ago, but I can't find now... not brogues, not patent, like mini elf boots.

Anyway, does anyone fancy making suggestions what work shoes I could look for now? Thanks!

What about loafers?

Thx 4 replies, I want something a bit smarter. Those look esp. bad with sox. Need full foot to be covered to be warm enough, & something I could wear outdoors in winter for a few minutes. I guess this is close but needs to be smarter.

Fly London do a good range of ankle boots, not exactly smart smart but versatile and if you look on amazon you will see the reviews are brilliant from people who are on their feet all day
El naturalista are in much the same vein although tend either more towards grunge or heels..the thing about their heels though is they are rubberised material so no impact ache from wearing them
Ecco have several styles of full ankle boots in officable looks and they are completely flat, probably More what you are looking for. My mil has several pairs and they obviously last well and look smart with a skirt.

If you're willing to splash out a bit, timberland do some lovely boots.

Thx 4 replies.
I am wondering if I should wait until July (lots of sales??)
Or wait until September even (lots more selection).
I can probably get current shoes to last that long low standards.

Are July sales likely to be good opportunity to get something for a good price?

I will browse local shops in small town where I live, in meantime. Will try to buy local, all that.

If you van manage to wait until the autumn there will be a lot more choice, yes.
