Get rosacea at times of bad stress. I manage it by cutting out sugar and alcohol as soon as it flares, then using a clay based cleanser (Esse refining cleanser) and Liquid Gold (glycolic). Glycolic acid works really well for some people but makes it worse for others.
My skincare routine usually is this:
Cleanser- Konjac sponge and water (I use a little bit of a cleansing lotion as well if I need to take off make-up or sunscreen- using Esse probiotic cleansing milk just now, but really just anything simple that's not drying)
Serum- I look for an aloe based one with hyaluronic acid- currently alternate between Apivita moisturising serum and Absolution serum anti-soif.
Toner/hydrating mist- Turbliss or just rose water
Moisturizer- either a blend of rose hip and jojoba oil or Lily Lolo day cream.
I avoid anything with shea butter in it like the plague, ditto cocoa butter. Anything that blocks pores seem to set the rosacea off quick smart.
Once a week I do a three step deep treatment. It consists of
Step 1 Bravura salicylic peel for 30 minutes to clean out pores
Step 2 Turbliss peat mask for 5-10 minutes ( mist it with rose water to stop it drying out every few minutes)
Step 3 Chinata moisturizing mask for 20 minutes (it has squalane derived from olive oil in it, very moisturising)
Once a week ( a few days after the three step facial), I do a quick facial in the bath
Step 1 Esse microderm exfoliator (it's a clay based deep cleanser) takes a minute followed
Step 2 Esse cream Mask- 5 minutes as I lay back in the bath. I'm using a lot of Esse just now as I got a trial set, but really the principle is something clay based followed by something moisturizing. The Esse stuff is good but not earth shattering.
But I do think a simple daily routine with gentle and light products combined with a deeper clean and deeper moisturise every few days works well for me.
