My son is six and a friend gave us a pair that a brand new - they are navy blue sharks but I'm not sure do other boys wear them?

At 6 my ds wore anything I gave him. They sound great for the seaside etc. Only thing is are his little toes safe?

MrsMarigold · 08/05/2017 21:33

Sigh, I wish TheFlyingFauxPas but he described them as "a bit girly" and "not really my style" so I wondered if I was being unreasonable.

I think they are quite a babyish style for a 6 year old, mine wouldn't wear them OP

SoftSheen · 08/05/2017 21:39

They are a bit girly I'm afraid. Though probably fine for a 2-3 year old, I'm not sure many 6 year old boys would wear them.

ilovetosleep · 08/05/2017 21:45

My 3 yr old DS wears them and my 6 yr old DS is very envious, but they don't do his size! dS2 gets loads of compliments on them and they are very practical for us beach dwellers...

squiz81 · 08/05/2017 21:45

I'd put my 2 year old in them possibly, but not my 5 year old. Saltwater do another kids style which is much nicer - shame they didn't give you those instead!

MrsMarigold · 08/05/2017 22:18

Nevermind, I'll save them for his sister. I also thought they looked a bit girly if I'm honest.

I think they look really cute and I have just been looking at similar myself. Trying to find them at a good price. I'd have NO hesitation putting them on both genders particularly the navy and tan ones.

TheFlyingFauxPas · 08/05/2017 22:59

Wink Doesn't Prince George wear similar? Love it that your 6 year old has a 'style'! My 14 year olds only just discovering his

Theycalledmethewildrose · 08/05/2017 23:11

Poor old Prince George only ever gets blue or navy shoes. Never noticed saltwaters on him.

Ha Ha! TheFlyingFauxPas his "style" is very conservative, he begged for a pair of gap chinos, loves corduroys. He hates pictures of animals, writing or logos but likes stripes, collared shirts and polo shirts. It's a pain because I have to consult him before I buy anything but he is decisive which is something.

I took him and his sister shoe shopping - he walked in and said he would like a pair of shoes like his existing trainers, the assistant found a pair he tried them on and was ready to go his sister on the other hand had the assistant get at least fifteen pairs of trainers out, tried them all on, then chose a £70 pair!
