Is Nars Sheer Glow being discontinued?

I've been trying to buy the bloody stuff in 'Punjab' for a while now and it's always out of stock. Even out of stock on Nars own site, as well as Selfridges, Harvey Nicks, JL, Liberty, Space NK, Feel Unique, Asos etc.

It's not just this shade, there are loads of shades out of stock everywhere. I've asked 3 different Sales ladies what's going on and nobody knows.

Anybody have the inside line? I will be bloody gutted if it's not being made as it's my absolute gold standard, fail safe foundation that has taken me years to find. And no, the All day luminous isn't the same.

No no nooooooo!!! NARS Sheer Glow in Punjab is MY holy grail foundation! It better bloody not be discontinued. ShockShockShock

ToothTrauma · 08/05/2017 12:15

NOOOOOOOO Mont Blanc is my holy grail and I've been having trouble getting that too! Please no 😩

CookieLady · 08/05/2017 12:18

No!!! Barcelona is my shade. Sad

Scribblegirl · 08/05/2017 12:21

This cannot happen! I managed to buy in my shade (Siberia) in Space NK two weeks ago without any stress, keeping my fingers crossed that they're just having production problems or something....

Maudlinmaud · 08/05/2017 12:22

I don't wear this often but do own it. Sometimes companies let stock run down when they are changing the formula or if they have supply problems. I really hope you get some as chanel discontinued my holy grail years ago and I'm still bitter about it.

Changedjustforthisonly · 08/05/2017 12:24

Just googled it and you can get it online from Sephora (they ship to the UK) www.sephora.com/sheer-glow-foundation-P247355?skuId=1202209

LadyOfTheCanyon · 08/05/2017 12:33

Cue Sephora stampede. Thanks!!!!

Faaaark. I'm not even kidding, this is quite stressful!! #firstworidproblems

LadyOfTheCanyon · 08/05/2017 13:01

Balls. Sephora don't ship Nars to the Uk.
This might be the excuse I need to try Armani power fabric instead ( which sounds too unnervingly close to a sort of beige support pants to be truly sexy)

I just rang customer services and spoke in a slightly squeaky panicked voice to a lady who said it's NOT being discontinued but she wasn't sure what the problem might be in the Uk as apparently the US is awash with the bloody stuff.

I was refused a colour match at the counter in Selfridges Birmingham as they "didn't and weren't expecting anymore stock in". When I asked if it was being discontinued I got a shoulder shrug Hmm

turtlewoman · 08/05/2017 14:47

I spoke to a lady at a NARS counter after getting matched as santa fe and then told it was out of stock. Apaz they just can't keep up with the demand, so loads of colours and products are out of stock.

Scribblegirl · 08/05/2017 15:21

Having picked up that new bottle in Space NK a couple of weeks ago I'm now getting twitchy and want to leg it back there and stock up on a few bottles... I never understood the Preppers board, now it seems I do!

LadyOfTheCanyon · 08/05/2017 16:16

Passed through JL just now, the ladies said that due to so many new markets opening in the Middle East they've redirected a ton of stock there and production hasn't caught up.
Which would explain why it's all the mid tone shades which are unavailable. There's loads of really light and really dark knocking about.

I've had the same, the only place I could get my sheer glow in mont blanc is directly off the nars website. Couldn't get it in John Lewis, Fenwicks, selfridges, space NK or liberty. Had to pay £7.50 shipping!! But was desperate, can't live without the stuff.

HomityBabbityPie · 08/05/2017 16:20

And mont blanc is one of the light ones!

LadyOfTheCanyon · 08/05/2017 18:37

I have not been this stressed about something for a long time^^ you can tell I don't have children.

Wow is it that good? Is it just for perfect drier skin as sheer glow sounds like minimal coverage and a no no for oily skin?

ilovetosleep · 08/05/2017 20:23

Can someone tell me what shade I need if I'm MAC NC15-NC20? Is it Siberia? Been wanting to try this for ages.

HomityBabbityPie · 08/05/2017 20:25

Jm no not at all - I have acne and very oily skin and need full coverage!

KoalaDownUnder · 09/05/2017 03:27

ilove, I am MAC NC25, and I use NARS Sheer Glow in Punjab, if that helps at all.

Changedjustforthisonly · 09/05/2017 09:52

@LadyOfTheCanyon - sorry when I went to the website this popped up so just assumed it was true for all their products

Is Nars Sheer Glow being discontinued?
NomDePlumeReloaded · 09/05/2017 10:03

Jmangel, imo 'sheer glow' is a total misnomer. It is neither sheer nor glowy. I am on the dry and dehydrated side of normal and it shows every single patch of less than dewy skin on my face and gives medium coverage that can be built up to full (if you have the sort of skin that gets on with it).

Literally, my skin looks better without this stuff than it does with it. I've tried numerous different application methods; flat brush, buffing brush, stippling brush, fingers, sponge. I cannot get it to give me the sort of undetectable, beautiful finish other users rave about. All I get is meh and then really horrible obvious bits where it has settled into dry patches.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 09/05/2017 12:02

Plume are you exfoliating enough or is it just Sheer Glow you don't get on with? I have combination/dry skin and I manually exfoliate ( flannel/scrubs) and use an acid toner daily which means there's no spare skin to stick to. But at the end of the day some people just don't gel with certain types of foundation.

jmangel I'm another one who tried Sheer Glow on the recommendation of MN and was totally underwhelmed. It was so drying and unflattering. As nom said, for me it's neither sheer nor glowy Grin I have ever so slightly dry skin but even with a good moisturiser, primer and proper application, this stuff totally failed to hit the mark.

I was straight back to my lovely Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser.
