Reccommendations for not-a-foundation please...?

I'm 30 with hormonal skin, prone to jaw line flare ups. Otherwise it's quite nice; I'm pale with rosy cheeks and my skin is pretty well hydrated / plump / no real wrinkles to speak of.

I do have a few acne scars, but I'm not too fussed by them; and heuuuge eye bags because I've not slept in, like, forever.

I'm not after a flawless finish - more a lightweight.... something...that will even out the complexion and take the red / flareyness away when I'm spotty. I don't want to wear foundation / concealer / powder every day but I'm not really sure what my options are.

Any suggestions? Needs to be non-comedogenic. I'd prefer affordable but would consider high end if it was really value for money.

have you had a look at a tinted moisturiser? Laura mercier does a lovely one, very sheer coverage.

Mysterycat23 · 07/05/2017 18:40

Revlon photo ready? It's a powder, gives nice light coverage.

jeaux90 · 07/05/2017 18:41

I really like the body shop foundation but also the best bb cream I have used

Cheesymonster · 07/05/2017 18:51

Urban decay one and done. It's a hybrid between a sheer foundation and a tinted moisturiser.

JML mineral magic! It's amazing! Covers well, stays on all day but looks invisible! Buy from Amazon or some supermarkets. I was very cynical because it is marketed by JML but I have purchased most foundations ever made in the last thirty years and it is brilliant stuff! A million times better than other mineral powders such as lily lilo etc

Pixi H2O skin tint is what I use, I love it, it perks up the skin as well as moisturising it.

Oooh thank you. Lots of ideas to explore.

Clarins BB Skin Perfecting cream.
Ask at your nearest Clarins counter for sachet samples to try.

SuperFlyHigh · 09/05/2017 08:50

Caudalie Vinoperfect is a nice tinted moisturiser. Budget buy the Simple one (tinted moisturiser) is just as good. I tend to lightly moisturise first before putting it on (says you can do this).

Just ordered some of this: foundation
They do a serum and more of a full coverage one. Fantastic price and I really rate this brand. Just been launched so bit a of a waiting list but worth the wait!

LadyOfTheCanyon · 09/05/2017 09:17

Perricone no foundation foundation. They do one for dry and one for oiler skin. I have no use for it as I like a full face of slap, but those that don't rate it highly.

Scrowy · 09/05/2017 09:37

I use a mixture of Vichy Dermablend (to cover acne scars) and the Bare Minerals complexion rescue. Both are non comedogenic

AteRiri · 09/05/2017 09:49

I really like Bourjois City Radiance.

Almahart · 09/05/2017 10:22

Erborian cc creme

I hate the look and feel of foundation, but found Laura Geller balence and brighten by accident, on qvc! I love it, I look like me, but 'smoother'! And it doesn't feel like I'm wearing anything Smile

I'm pale, few freckles, rosy cheeks, couple of blemishes and small scars. I LOVE the Body Shop tea tree BB cream. It's about £8 for 30ml, only need a very small amount and it gives this amazing sort of glowy finish, but it also completely hides my blemishes. I've tried so many foundations in the past but I find this, despite being light coverage, is just so much better. No cakey finish, no rubbing off. And the tea tree seems to do amazing things for hydrating my skin. I absolutely love it.

MrsLion · 09/05/2017 11:39

Reckon age defying firming and lifting.

Always bought very expensive foundation prior to discovering this. Lightweight, glowy but not greasy or shiney, natural. Looks like my my skin only better. Seriously!!
I get compliments on skin all the time.

shittestmumintheworld · 09/05/2017 12:37

I love Clinique moisture surge tinted moisturizer. Its fine for my hormonal skin that can flare up at the time of the month. Not cheap but really good stuff. It's light but gives just enough coverage and a really nice finish.

ClarkWGriswold · 09/05/2017 12:42

I also can't stand the feel of foundation on my skin. I use Clinique Superpowder Double Face Makeup which is nice and light and in summer I also use JML Magic Minerals, which is surprisingly good!

citygirl1961 · 09/05/2017 20:04

I like the Clinique tinted moisturiser but have told by a sales assistant that its being discontinued as those blend it yourself drops have come out to replace it, have you heard this?

shittestmumintheworld · 10/05/2017 21:42

Oh no city girl this is terrible news! I'm going to have to stock pile!

Sciurus83 · 10/05/2017 21:45

Bourjous CC is very good, more pricey option Chanel vitalumiere aqua, it cosmetics CC
