Epilating- what am i doing wrong??!

Bought an epilator a few weeks ago after reading a thread on here (some sort of Braun silk epil, about £85ish). Managed the fear and did my legs in the shower... Painful but bearable but my legs were still prickly/spiky afterwards. Left it another couple of weeks and tried again- same problem. What am I doing wrong??! Can you get smooth legs with an epilator? Am I not leaving it long enough and wouldn't bloody waxing just be less faff if that's the case? it's been about a week since I last epilated, my legs feel quite uncomfortable? Help!

I'd say that for a time, it's a good idea to do it every week. Hair doesn't always grow at the same rate.

Sometimes if the hair is too long, it snaps before the root.

I find that the hair folicles stand out for a while after you've epilated which makes your legs feel spiky, but it isn't hair. The folicles are also more visible, so it's a bit of a double edged sword. Randomly I don't get that at all on my underarms, so I think it is just the legs. I use mine once a week, and that way my legs stay hair free. Once you've been doing it for a while, the hair gets thinner and finer and in some places completely stops growing, so it is worth it. And I don't feel it at all anymore Grin.

Try exfoliating the day before you epilate and moisturise well afterwards.

Thanks all will persevere!
