First time Boden buyer - sizing help please

I'm thinking of buying some work things from Boden clearance especially dresses.
I've never bought from there before so am looking for some advice on what sizes to order.
I'm 5'3" size 12 in Next but some looser styles I can get away with a 10. Have a bit of a tummy though so don't want things too tight/clingy.
What size would you think I should order and should I go for the petite range?

It really really depends on the item; I find it varies by style! Check out the sizing information as it will give you exact sizing for that product. Also check the reviews for fitting help.
For dresses I mostly find them true to size; I don't shop at Next so can't help with how it relates to their sizes! I'm an 8-10 and tend to get dresses in 10.

It's a best guess. Buy it, try it and send it back if it doesn't fit! Boden has a body shape it cuts for. Nothing I've tried has ever fitted me, but it suits my DS.

Boden have inch measurements for their sizes which tend to be pretty accurate. I buy 90% of my stuff from boden and next and I'd say they size similarly but boden can be unpredictable on waist lines - the high waisted stuff tends to be big and the more hipster level tends to b small.

OP I'd try 12. I'm similar size. The reviews can be very helpful - they might say this comes up small etc. You may want petite??
I love Boden, have fun shopping!

Thank you all. Do they often have discount vouchers online?

They're always offering discounts. You can find a code for, usually, 20% off any time on MN. Just go to Money and then promo codes. I never buy at more than 20 % off.

Great thanks for the tip Poly

I'm 5'3' and find Boden dresses are good length wise on me. Their trousers seem to be made for someone at least a foot taller than me though.

Size wise, I agree with GooseFriend. High waisted styles are usually generous and lower ones tend to be cut small. Their specific measurements for each garment are pretty accurate and I always check the reviews too first. I find their sizing similar to Next - I'm a 16 in tops and dresses (though sometimes a 14 if it's really generous) and an 18 in trousers and skirts.

Honey1975 · 06/05/2017 07:59

Hiccup do you order dresses in petite to get the right length or is regular ok?

If I was you I'd order petite & normal in every size. Then send back what you don't want using the free returns label.

I find sizing a bit off TBH, my new tops an 8 but the new jacket is a 6 petite. Usually I'm an 8p all over or 6 in normal sizes.

It's unusual to get a code for clearance stock though.

MrsJamesMathews · 06/05/2017 08:10

As others have said check garment measurements as they have lengths as well.

I'm 5ft 3in and order petite jackets or blazers when available and they fit lovely but I like my skirts and dresses long so go with regular but if you want them as per the model shot (or as close as) yes to ordering petite.

Greyboot · 06/05/2017 08:24

I'm usually a 14/16 top and 16 bottom at next

The Boden jersey top and dress I have are both 18 as the 16 was too clingy on my wobbly areas!
