Has anyone bought the Boden slim jeans...or are there any other flattering dark denim straight cuts out there?

Hi, have begun to feel frumpy in my boot cuts, would like some straighter cut but really dark denim jeans for spring. Would like a lightweight denim in a really dark blue with a bit of stretch in it. Saw some nice Great Plains ones in a local shop (in size 8 ) but they are not on the website. The Boden ones look OK but not sure. I'm 5'8" and a size 14 bottom half (but getting smaller!)

Aloha · 13/03/2007 18:19

I really like that green dress Beetroot - have my eye on it. Boden dresses suit me.

Might order the Boden jeans. Can always send them back if hideous. And it would save me a trip to the Kings Road.

extremely interested to here what you think. i am a generous to put it mildly size 14, but boden bootcut "sassy" jeans are too big!! gap western bootcut is a good shape for me, being not too flared. will try the demi bootcut although agree that you have to try on every single bleeding pair of gap jeans as the fit varies even within supposedly same sizes and styles.
definitly agree with whoever said that long and lean look, bizarrely, quite frumpy. am wearing them right now!
my current best jeans are from next's last season catalogue - they were billed as skinny but have a long sort of ruched (wrinkled?) ankle and many people have said what nice jeans. despite me being as i've said a generous 14 and frankly large bum and thighs, thus what trinny & suz say definitely to stay away from striaght legged jeans.

Abwab · 13/03/2007 21:19

I bought a pair of Gap western bootcut jean this weekend and went out on Saturday night feeling fab!! They sucked me in in all the right places.

pollypeachum · 13/03/2007 21:22

they are good, i agree. i have them in the pigment dye (which does tend to rub off if i keep wiping my hands on them - nervous tic, saddo in public....) bought them in regular for every day and long to wear with heels. worry about muffin top though

Abwab · 13/03/2007 21:32

ooo yeah i know what you mean, ,y hands were really blue!! a long line looser fitting top hid the 'muffin' quite well for me (i hope)

pollypeachum · 13/03/2007 21:38

oh yes to the long tops. thank god tunics and kaftans are in fashion!

Abwab · 13/03/2007 21:43

before the arrival of DS 2.6 yrs ago i used to scoff at long line tops as i had a stomach like an ironing board - how silly do I feel now. i have a days shopping planned on Monday with a friend and no children, i desperately need to get some style back into my wardrobe and we have sworn to stay well away from the childrens departments.

pollypeachum · 13/03/2007 21:48

post childbirth figures are just crap! i have just spent over £100 on a "control" swimsuit that promies to make me look 10 pounds lighter. i used to wear bikinis. sob!!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 13/03/2007 21:50

Abwab you are really pissing me off!

You went out on Saturday night and you get a day shopping with a friend and no children on Monday?

What am I doing wrong?

CODalmighty · 14/03/2007 13:57

ok the whites tuff ones staright lef audrey or summat are great
no hepburn they are claled
and are 32 inch
a great lenght fo flats

Abwab · 14/03/2007 20:17

ah Grumpy, it was my DH birthday at the weekend and we haven't been out for ages and i am deeply deserving of a day off (work, child and husband).

CODalmighty · 15/03/2007 08:21

well sloha?

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 15/03/2007 11:47

Still jealous, Abwab.

I'll bet you anything you like you come home with a bottle of nailpolish for yourself and at least five outfits for your DS.

And maybe something 'nice for dinner'.

That's how all my shopping expeditions seem to go.

Aloha · 15/03/2007 11:50

Apparently my order has been despatched... I am currently wearing size 14 Great Plains cropped jeans which are a good fit and I hope the Boden ones are too. I just bought a most fab pair of ballerinas in gold glitter which I love.
