Gel nails at home? Any recommendations? Is it easy?

Just that really! Have had a bit of a meltdown today about how frumpy I've become. Used to get my nails gelled in a salon regularly but a combo of work and two small kids meant I gave up because it was so hard to get there so they'd end up looking tatty. But good nails always make me feel smarter so I'd like to try it at home.

So....should I go for it? Any recommendations? How long does it last? It it suitable for an idiot? Anything I need to know? TIA.

I have the Sensationail kit from Boots. It's very easy and looks great when I can be bothered. It's actually not too time consuming, but you do have to be very careful not to get it on your skin, as this is what causes it to peel off. It's the attention to detail I find trying!

I have never had my nails done at a salon and wasnt the best at painting them myself but ive started using the sensationail and its fab, so easy to use and looks great. I love the going for rose gold shade as it changes depending on the light hitting it.

Good deals at boots just now and sensationail site also does good offers now and again

These are mine after a week- my first attempt. I bought a blue sky kit on eBay- led not uv lamp. I'm pleased so far!

I was going to start a thread on this subject! I've been looking at rimmel super gel polish and topcoat, they are on offer atm. Sets without a light. I've read so many contrasting reviews though!

I just want a polish that lasts about a week, is opaque and shiny, fills in my ridges and is easy to remove. I want a nice natural pale pink.

I use bluesky. I bought a starter kit from Amazon which was really good and I now use the peel off top and base-coat
