Dress for wedding - help please

I’m going to a big (and quite glamorous by all accounts) wedding next month and I need inspiration for where to shop for the dress. I know I could go to John Lewis or similar and try on a few styles, but I was really hoping to find somewhere a bit more interesting/independent and lessen the chances of someone else wearing the same thing – it’s a biiiig wedding.

I tend to wear wiggle/pencil style dresses, and would be happy to spend up to around £200. I like print and any neckline that’s not too low. If it’s relevant, for day to day, I like Hush, warehouse, gap. Hobbs for work.

Can anyone recommend anywhere online I could have a nosey at? Any smaller/boutique-y type retailers that might sell the type of thing I’m after?

Or even better, any dress suggestions from the wise?

WHat size are you?

What colours suit you? Do you like prints?

Ugh "glammer"??? Glamour. Also available in the UK e.g. here and here

OlennasWimple · 03/05/2017 16:14

Sorry, I see you already said about prints

OlennasWimple · 03/05/2017 16:17

The Outnet has lots of body con dresses under £200 and are unlikely to be worn by (m)any other guests

Great, thanks for those suggestions. Loving loads of the stop staring styles (particularly this one although not sure I could pull off the green: www.revival-retro.com/collections/dresses/products/stop-staring-dresses-uk-jeanette?variant=33017422017 and this outnet one: www.theoutnet.com/en-GB/Shop/Product/Raoul/Sloane-cold-shoulder-crepe-peplum-midi-dress/897847

Wimple I'm a 10 and reasonably curvy. 5'8". I love prints, especially florals, and warm colours look best on me. Corals, pinks, navy.

I'm also quite drawn to this, but not sure what quality will be like, and no free returns...prettykittyfashion.co.uk/products/vintage-cream-floral-wiggle-pencil-dress?variant=19201676483
And the same with a Bardot neckline prettykittyfashion.co.uk/products/white-floral-bardot-wiggle-pencil-dress?variant=37476177027

That Stop Staring dress is gorgeous!

I like the Outnet one too, but it would depend so much on how it fitted you

I personally wouldn't order something I couldn't easily return

Minkyscamp · 03/05/2017 21:46

Hmmm thanks for your input. I think I'm going to order the outnet one and the green stop staring one and choose once I've tried them.

Feel like a whole new world of dresses has been opened up to me!
