Which dress?!

Wedding in July. For various reasons I've struggled with dress shopping. I finally found one I like in boden but the colour I wanted (plain navy) was out of stock so I got one with a print. It's nice, fits well etc but I think the print is a bit....dunno...girly maybe? Not sure, there's just something I'm not 100% happy with. Anyway, now the plain one is back in stock but full price (it had 25% off when I bought it). DH says he prefers the printed one and the plain one is boring. Opinions please!

Bollocks, think the links go to the same page. Anyway, it's the navy vs the navy trailing ditsy print.

Lovely!!! I think for a wedding I'd chose the pattern one (not that I particularly wear them lol!) but it's really nice 👍

Hoppinggreen · 03/05/2017 12:59

I prefer the print one but boringly I can imagine getting more wear out of the plain one

margaritasbythesea · 03/05/2017 12:59

I think the navy looks beautiful. I hope it's as good in reality.

ohfourfoxache · 03/05/2017 12:59

If it's for a wedding then I think the printed one is better

MuchasSmoochas · 03/05/2017 13:01

Navy is more dressy I think.

BellMcEnd · 03/05/2017 13:02

Both are beautiful - personally I like the print one best but you could accessorise the navy one.

Out of interest, what is the model doing in the photo of the red dress? V odd Grin

I think the plain one would be more elegant in real life. I also struggle with prints though and think it looks a bit girly, which is added too by the shape of the skirt. I think the navy is easier to wear to different things and could even be worn in winter so would get more use.

For me it would be the plain one.

blueskyinmarch · 03/05/2017 13:05

I like them both but i think you will get more wear out of the plain Navy one. You can brighten it up with shoes etc ( i would go shocking pink personally) to make it look weddingy but it would also work for lots of other events styled more plainly.

NoMoreBones · 03/05/2017 13:08

I really love the print one and think it is perfect for a wedding.
You probably would get more wear out of the plain one so it depends if tht is an issue for you.
You could always put the print one on eBay after the wedding.

taybert · 03/05/2017 13:29

Thanks everyone! Husband says print better for a wedding too. My thought would be that with the printed one I'd be wanting to go for quite plain accessories but the plain one I'd add interest with accessories. I guess I feel like the plain one might be a bit more elegant? But then maybe you could substitute "elegant" with "boring".

The navy does have potential to be worn more but that said I don't go to many occasions anyway so they'd probably get equal wear really.

It's a nice dress, cotton, fits me really well so probably either is fine. If boden send me another code within the next couple of weeks and the navy is still in stock I'll probably order it and compare the two.

Now then, shoes!

I like both but for a wedding would go with the pattern.

Therealslimshady1 · 03/05/2017 13:43

Buy both!

taybert · 03/05/2017 15:14

I could buy both. And both sets of accessories. Then just wear wedding outfits for normal daywear.

I prefer the navy; classic and elegant. I think that print looks a bit odd Confused

Tanaqui · 03/05/2017 15:53

A7V5 will give you 20% off, free delivery and returns if you want to try the plain one!

taybert · 03/05/2017 16:04

Oo, codes, think I'll order the navy to compare. Thanks!

Great, ordered, actually just noticed the plain one is a tenner cheaper too so worked out about the same with the difference in the offers.

Well, unexpectedly from my point of view the plain one came and just didn't look as nice on. The fit was a little different which I think was the main reason but after trying it I liked the print one a lot more.

So, now for some non-stilettos to go with it. Let the never ending cycle of deliveries and returns begin!
