Black Boden jeans

I've just tried on a pair of black Boden skinny jeans which I'm tempted to keep. What are the chances of them staying black? There is a label saying they will fade with wear to give a lived in look, as if that's some kind of USP rather than precisely that which I'm trying to avoid!

Which ones are they? I have the Mayfair modern ones and they have stayed very black, no fading at all over the last 6 months.

Soho skinny jeans, but I wonder if they use similar dyes in all their jeans?

IME no chanc but I like my grungy grey ones! (Were once black)

The Mayfair black ones are 97% cotton, and the Soho ones seem to be more viscose/cotton mix. So I think different material, if that helps?

BWatchWatcher · 03/05/2017 19:42

You can always re-dye them black if they have a reasonable cotton content.

Thanks for the replies I'll check the material. I suspect Dylon may be the way forward - I love inky black jeans but they never stay that way!

I think mine do as they are also slightly fuzzy with age (boy do they sound attractive!). I used to buy a new pair every year but now I just resign myself to the inevitable. They are soooo comfy for me though and the long length is long enough. Curiously I have blue denim sohos I don't love st all and hardly ever reach for.

ItMustBeBedtimeSurely · 03/05/2017 19:59

Mine aged very quickly. I wouldn't buy them again.

Just in case you're looking at alternatives to Boden, I've had a pair of inky black Uniqlo skinny jeans since January. Washed lots of times due to tiny messy hands and they are still as dark as when I bought them.

chloechloe · 04/05/2017 09:49

You must have long legs swimming as the regular are really long!

I might check out the Uniqlo ones thanks munki. I've never ordered from there but was planning to try a few bits after seeing lots of recommendations on here. Indeed with 2 under 2 regular washing is the problem!

I love uniqlo for jeans, they haven't gotten baggier either btw, which often happens with other brands I've tried.
