Curling iron recommendations

I have long almost straight medium thickness hair, I really want to do nice loose curls but haven't yet found the right tool.

Can anyone recommend a good curling iron? I'm assuming I need at least a medium sized barrel with my hair length but there's so many to choose from!

Not sure if it's quite what you want but I have a babyliss pro perfect curl. It's so easy!

I've looked at those, do you get over the fear of having your hair ripped out? 😳 can you do wavey curls or just ringlets?
