Help - I need a new spring/summer work wardrobe

Not as easy as it sounds! Casual office (jeans ok but not for meetings), I'm around 5'4 and about a size 20 (😳). I need some smart nice not too expensive work trousers/tops/jackets. Everything I have is scruffy. Even more stressful is I work in a creative industry so some need to look a bit cool. I'm not really sure how to start looking cool as a 40-something overweight Mum who hasn't got a lot of cash for clothes!!

Where even to look?!? I'm currently living in jeans and jumpers but I really need to get my act together.

I would try and buy a couple of jackets - boucle, blazer and kimono style are all good and will bring a simple jeans/T together into an outfit. These pics are from Asos and are £40-£50 but you can get similar from Primark if that is too spendy - happy shopping!

Good plan. Look on asos too - buy trousers, jeans, t shirts and blazers all in black white or grey. Dress down with white Stan smiths or converse in the studio, wear heels for meetings. Scarf or bright lipstick if you need a bright colour pop. Chunky jewellery. Very easy to get dressed every day and always look put together.

Brilliant! Jeans converse and blazer is my go-to generally but def need updating - I really like the second pic. I'd forgotten about Asos and was resorting to terrible (but at least it bloody fits!) m&s for jeans.

Off to asos! I also need a good lipstick!
