What colour nails should I get?? (Job interview)

Okay, this is what I'm working with (be gentle Wink).

I want to look neat & conservative but stylish. Will be wearing a dark skirt suit. What colour mani should I ask for? (Plain mani, not interested in gel nails, etc.)

Thanks in advance!

It doesn't matter!

Good luck with the prep/interview

KoalaDownUnder · 01/05/2017 04:48

Aw, thanks Dozer.

I know it doesn't really matter, but they look tatty so I want to do something. Just not sure what to ask for. Smile

Any standard colours will be fine am sure. What do you like?

KoalaDownUnder · 01/05/2017 05:09

I like either pale nails or dark nails, I think. Nothing bright.

I like these, but are they too young/trendy?

Love the dark ones. Go rock the interview. Good luck!

ittooshallpass · 01/05/2017 05:27

It depends what the interview is for.

KoalaDownUnder · 01/05/2017 05:35

Lawyer, smallish firm.

I would get Essie ballet slipper for an interview.

KoalaDownUnder · 01/05/2017 05:45

Lapin, ooh, that's lovely. I might go for that! Thanks.

Good luck for the interview if your suit is conservative I would go for bright pick or orange nails to show a bit of personality, when my nails are either pink, orange or purple I always get "ooh nice nails comments"

Temporary2002 · 01/05/2017 05:47

I like the dark nails you posted. Good luck!

dudsville · 01/05/2017 06:07

Your nails don't look tatty op! They look clean and cared for. And they will also look nice painted. I hope it gives you a boost!

ButtermilkPancakes · 01/05/2017 06:19

I would go for a nude colour. It will look neat and professional and won't detract from what you're saying.

For individuality I usually wear a nice scarf or handbag, but I always keep my nails and make-up neutral for interviews.

sheepashwap · 01/05/2017 06:31

Vote for nude. Understated elegance. It's a law firm. Wear colour when you've got the job. Wink

Tweedledumb0 · 01/05/2017 06:37

Nude (and all one colour, not French manicure). Please don't go for comment-grabbing colours; it's not the look you're after in a law firm interview. ^^ Wear colour when you've got the job is perfect advice!

KoalaDownUnder · 01/05/2017 07:37

Thanks guys. Nude it is. I love the dark ones, but I'm definitely trying for 'understated elegance'. (As opposed to 'dog chewed my cuticles' that I've currently got going on.)

Definitely a nude. Whether we like it or not an interviewer will massively judge someone on the way they look. I'd play it safe, especially for a law firm.

carrie74 · 01/05/2017 07:46

I'm a fan of colourful nails (sporting raspberry coloured at the moment), but for a law interview it would be all about the nude for me too. Essie is excellent for every neutral shade under the sun.

Sample1936 · 01/05/2017 08:14

For a law firm interview, I'd go with a nude colour or buff and apply clear varnish.
You don't want anything competing or distracting when you talk and use your hands.

TwoBeams · 01/05/2017 08:17

Nails Inc Porchester Square is my go to nude when I want my nails to look classy.

SuperFlyHigh · 01/05/2017 11:23

Nude or greige or beige nails. Nothing bright.
