I ve tried But I can't get out of my skinnies !
I love straight leg too.
But this wide leg frayed ends - ---- it s terrible on me ! So are 'boyfriend' jeans-
I m a size 10, pear shaped. Have tried it with various sweaters shirts tops and am going to give this trend a skip! Not the end of the world really but just wanted a moan. Smile

Goodness no I look awful in them. I can't wear the cut-out-shoulder nonsense going on or bardot-style tops either (and those things are everywhere) because I've broad shoulders so I'm living in older, not-currently-fashionable stuff and calling myself vintage.

If you are in your mid 30s or older you'll remember how weird we thought skinny jeans were when they took over from bootcuts in 2000-and-something.

Those that are even older will remember how old fashioned the flares of the early to mid 70s became, and how weird it then was when the ubiquitous 501s of the 80s gave way to boot cut jeans (and surely they were really the despised flares, of "the decade style forgot", weren't they Shock?)

I quite like the shape of this new style. I don't madly love the hemline detailing of them, though. Hopefully that fashion will be short lived, but the general shape will hang around for a bit longer.

Ok so who used to wear bell-bottoms? Grin Anyone?

I agree we've been wearing skinnies for so long we just don't notice any more how unflattering they can be. I detest faux fraying almost as much as I do ready made rips but at least there's a shape that skims my thighs in the shops again. It's been a long time coming.

I've bought the white and blue pair linked for my hols. They look lovely with sliders or ankle tie sandals/wedges. I am tall enough to wear them, not sure they'd work on anyone under 5'5 or so.

I bought these white wide, frayed jeans recently for my hols but returned them when DH suggested I looked like a castaway Blush
I kind of had to agree with him.
