Cold sores when I wear lipstick - anyone else?

I've never been much of a lipstick wearer - until recently. In my forties and I've now discovered it!

Have tried several different makes and they all give me cold sores. Is there anything I can do?

I get a lot caused as I'm immunosuppressed. I buy cheap lipsticks and throw them away at every coldsore I get, as it can 'infect' the lipstick and cause you to reinfect yourself if that makes sense. Could that be what is happening to you?

Mmm, don't think so. I will spend quite a lot on a lipstick (I've only recently discovered that it quite suits me :) .) and I can wear them for a week or so and then a cold sore and very dried out lips occur.

Yes, it happens to me! Can think of no logical explanation though.
