Has anyone bought the ankle length trousers from uniqlo. They look nice but I'm put off by the elastic waist.

Watching with interest, I was wondering the same thing!

I have them and I like them. The waistband looks normal, not elasticated. The only thing I don't like is that there are no belt loops. I like to wear a belt even if I don't need one to keep my trousers up!

The ones with the striped elastic bit? I have a navy cotton and black cotton pair, wore then constantly last year. They are great, perfect for apples who have narrow hips but need a more forgiving waistband.

But I've just sent back a pale pink pair as didn't like the fabric at all, sort of wool like but not.

Hmm, really not sure. Really looking for some nice summery ones having got previous ones from top shop and m and s. These seemed to fit the bill but was concerned about the elastic waistband and now the fabric.

I have 3 pairs! Love them and once on, they look quite tailored and the elasticated waist isn't really noticeable

FiddleFigs · 25/04/2017 20:54

I have a pair in navy that I love. I've never worn elasticated waist trousers, but these really don't look it. V comfy. Fabric is lovely on my pair.

I have these in navy and grey. I was worried about the elasticated waist but it's not really noticeable at all once they are on. They are perfect for work and can also be styled casually. Perfect for spring/ summer.

Celeriacacaca · 25/04/2017 21:30

I have some winter ones and have just ordered some summery ones. I love them and, like you, thought the elasticated waist might be a bit grannyish but, in fact, it's great and really comfortable. As others have said, great fabrics and very easy to care for plus they look smart.

BounceBounceSplishSplash · 25/04/2017 22:35

Are they true to size? I ordered a skirt from Uniqlo which also had an elasticated waist at back and it was too big in my normal size so I returned it. Just wondering the trousers might be the same?

PhyllisWig · 25/04/2017 22:38

Based on the post above I assume not good for pears though? I have heavy hips/thighs and charming post section tum so struggle a lot with trousers but had considered these. Is it worth sizing up (am usually a 14)?

FiddleFigs · 26/04/2017 07:16

Phyllis I'm a pear, and quite heavy in the upper thigh and these are really flattering. I found them true to size.

TanteJeanne · 03/05/2017 22:06

You had me at elasticated waist.... but unfortunately sold out in my size/ colour.

dragonflygirl1 · 07/05/2017 20:51

I had looked at these, but couldn't figure out what size I needed, even when looking at their size chart. I am usually a 12-14, with a slimmer waist, but heavier legs. Any idea about size?

carabos · 07/05/2017 20:55

I don't know about these trousers but I do buy a fair bit from Uniqlo and find their sizing to be massive. I've just had a delivery of four t shirt type tops and I think these may be the last items I buy from them because even though I like their stuff, it's just HUGE.
