Help please with finding a black dress

So I'm graduating next Saturday and they have a really, really stricky-pants dress code. Its either a plain black skirt and plain white shirt, or a black dress, at least knee length and with long sleeves.

I am old and fat and don't wear dresses or skirts. Ever. Black and white are both terrible colours on me, so I am unlikely to wear anything I get for the graduation again (unless someone dies....) So I don't want to spend a lot - maybe £70 absolute tops.

I think I would prefer to wear a dress rather than shirt / skirt.

Oh, black dress with long sleeves - simple!, I can hear you say. But noooooooo - it's not. I saw nothing in town today. I was relying on Boden as a back up but all their long-sleeve dresses in a size 12 are sold out. I've looked online and because I'm flat-chested, dresses that have no shape at all look like a sack on me. I'm way too old and lumpy for anything body-con-ish. Skater-type dresses look ridiculous on me as I've got quite a boyish figures.

Has anyone got any ideas? Thanks.

I have a black jersey 3/4 sleeved dress from Jaegar that I wear to death, it was about £50 and I think they still have them on the Jaegar Outlet website.

It's scoop necked, shaped but not fitted and has pockets, knee length, perfect for work for me.

Fab. Will take a look. Thanks. Jaegar site is down at the moment.

Just checked Boden again, and there do seem to be a couple of options so have ordered and will send back if they look rubbish.

Do you have graduation robes? If so, be careful- you need something like a button at the front of the dress to hook the robes onto

How about this?

Ruffles to help with the flat chest long sleeves and lose to cover bumps

Try Hobbs, click on the outlet tab on the main site. Beware though, unless you pay for next day delivery they don't pick/send your order for a couple of days.

Not sure about length in real life

I have this from M&S I am a 14-16 and got the 16 and it hangs nicely. I am 5'10 and it isn't too short on me, similar to the model.
