Whiffs pits - what comes after mitchum?

lasttimeround · 22/04/2017 07:37

I've always had strong bo. Mitchum roll on used to be great but in the last few years not as effective anymore. I used it daily (not as advertised with skipping a day). But it worked. Now..not so much
I'm getting stinkier. Can you recommend products? Is there anything else I can do?

Sorry OP, not much help but your title made me Grin

CrypticDrip · 22/04/2017 07:41

Perspirex did the trick for me. However, for the love of God, don'tbe a moron like me apply after shaving your pits!

If you are so sweaty/pongy, have you chatted to your GP about it?

HellYeh · 22/04/2017 07:46

Triple dry? Apply in the evening and wash off in the morning then apply normal deodorant.

Takes about a week to start working then you only have to do it every other day

KanielOutis · 22/04/2017 09:18

Men's triple dry unpurfumed. Literally the only thing that works. About £5 a can in Boots.

CatsRule · 22/04/2017 09:29

Faith in Nature roll on is the only thing that's worked for me so far. Even if I sweat I don't smell.

SleepingBooty · 22/04/2017 09:31

Mitcham stick is better than the roll on imo.

TheUltimate · 22/04/2017 09:32

I suffer with hyperhydrosis and whilst I don't smell really bad, it destroys my clothes and leaves me with embarrassing patches no matter the weather. Mitchum doesn't work for me, if anything it makes my clothes worse by mixing with my sweat and leaving white stains.

I started driclor last night. Similar to perspirex, you put on before bed and wash off in the morning.

I'll be honest, the itchiness drove me potty last night Grin and my pits are slightly sensitive this morning. But they're currently dry a rare moment and I'm really hoping it works. I recommend it but only if you're at your wits end and haven't tried everything else possible first.

Good luck, I know how soul destroying over-sweating can be.

lasttimeround · 22/04/2017 12:20

Thank you for the suggestions. Lots to try. I'm basically stinky not sweaty - especially if I'm stressed the smell gets more sharp Blush

Any of these more for smell than wetness?

Drink lots of water? That always helps me. I think it dilutes the sweat.

ChinchillaFur · 22/04/2017 12:47

Driclor is amazing. It not only works while you use it, it actually cured me completely after only using it for a couple of months!

TakeASipOfDancingJuice · 22/04/2017 12:53

I don't find Triple Dry that good. Perspirex works for me but I get the Comfort one so it doesn't itch like the normal one.

Ftumch · 22/04/2017 12:59

Triple dry unperfumed.Ive just discovered it after Mitchum stopped working for me.

StealingYourWiFi · 22/04/2017 13:01

Botox?

FloatyCat · 22/04/2017 13:26

I would cut out all garlic & onions from your diet, as smells from these are released through pores, and also see gp it may be a medical issue.

QuiteLikely5 · 22/04/2017 13:32

Driclor should come with a warning! It bloody stings and bleached my clothes. After a week my pits were cracked and stinging me

WhatWouldDarylDixonDo · 22/04/2017 18:27

Mitchum do an extra strength stick that's in a box. I used to use the roll on but found similar to you. I now use this with no issues. Still can't get more than one wear out of a top though Sad

EyeDrops · 22/04/2017 18:34

Following! I sweat a lot, I've spent years choosing clothes based on those least likely to show pit patches Sad

Has anyone tried Odaban? It works well, another that you apply in the evening then wash off in the morning - but, you're not supposed to apply it after shaving for 24 hrs which I found a right pain in the bum!! Are the others like that too?

Mummamayhem · 22/04/2017 18:35

Driclor has changed my life!

munchkinmaster · 22/04/2017 18:37

I had Botox twice on the NHS.

lasttimeround · 22/04/2017 19:32

OK I've bought perspirex - ummed and ahhed over comfort or strong before going for strong.
I felt like buying all the options as I'm so fed up. But starting here instead. Apply in evening to washed and dried pits.

I doubt there's dietary reasons. I drink lots of water and while I like spicy food we're pretty tame. I get cumin pits from Indian food complete with yellow staining if I use turmeric so that's an occasional pleasure (I like curry but get really passed off if I get stains mh clothes) I don't think I have a skin smell. Just really whiffy armpits. I always have. Mitchum was ace until a few years ago it stopped working when I'm stressed. If this doesn't work I will go to GP.

Driclor worked wonders for my DD. She was so stressed with sweating buckets and it has reduced it to a normal amount which she is thrilled with. Good luck OP, i really hope you find something that works well for you soon Smile

Oldraver · 22/04/2017 19:56

If its whiff that bothers you more try Pitrok...it doesn't stop you sweating but acts on the odour.

lasttimeround · 22/04/2017 20:03

I tried Pitrok in my 20s. Really not much of a dent in my smelliness sadly. That's when I discovered mitchum.
I'm liking the perspirex which I've applied now - very dry and smell-free. I wonder if I'll start sweating more generally if I dry out my pits like this. Despite my awful pits I almost don't sweat at all. (The kind of gross thing I find fascinating )

Another vote here for Triple dry. I used it for about 5 years but it's just started not working so I think I may have built up a resilience to its powers(?)

Driclor made me itchy and a bit cracked although I did find it stronger than Triple dry so would save it for special occasions and try not to itch in company!

I was always envious of people who could buy a cheap one of any old brand and not have to think about this. At one point I was looking into having botox in my armpits (!) but this was more for wetness but not smell. I have since decided to not stress about this as much and needless in my armpits freaked me out. Good luck 🍀

SherbertLemon2011 · 22/04/2017 20:34

Needles not needless
