Spider veins/rosacea/pregnancy 'mask'

Does anyone know of a remedy (other than laser?) for spidery red veins on my cheeks? I had quite pronounced 'butterfly' mask on my face during pregnancy, and this has left me 18 months on with a strange red patch on each cheek. On closer inspection I can see very fine red under the skin and it actually feels a bit dry and sore too although I don't have sensitive skin anywhere else. I have two small hard spots appeared there this week, not like acne/spots but like sore patches.
I don't wear make up except a bit of cc cream but this is now not covering it very well. I wondered if anyone knew any home remedies or tricks I could try? I feel very 'flushed' in the face and someone commented on it today which made me realise it's worse than I thought.

Tried to take a picture- it looks like I'm wearing blusher all the time! It's not the best picture sorry!

Similar problems. Bobbi Brown foundation stick is brilliant. Have just started using new NARS concealer in pot, also seems to be working for me. Both can be applied in seconds, in a car mirror if necessary katy

Thanks Katy - is this one of those things we just have to accept and cover up for ever?? I was hoping it would gradually go but it hasn't- after the initial brown colour faded, the red has remained.

This looks a bit like my roseacea is when it's relatively dormant.
I have just been covering up with heavy duty green concealer. I need to get referred back to the dermatologist, would be glad to hear other suggestions.

I had relatively bad acne in my teens. I remember stressing over it, and that was the time when all the pictures were in the papers of Simon Weston after the Falklands. I remember suddenly deciding what was happening with me wasn't life changing and more or less stopped stressing about it from that point on, and that approach has sort of stuck.

So probably stuck with it (I'm toying with a dermatologist appointment as it's got worse recently) but so much worse can happen.

Looks and sounds similar to my rosacea. I had laser treatment which was very successful but prior to that was keeping it under control with two creams- rosex in the morning and soolantra at night, both prescription only.

What sort of laser treatment did you have?

If it's really bad, the charity, Changing Faces can give you an appointment with a specialist that does camouflage make up.

BWatch, I think it was IPL. I attended a dermatologist and got it through him. I paid privately for it, €300 per session. I'm in Ireland, so am not sure what availability is like in U.K.

Don't get me wrong, it's not horrific. But it's constantly there, doesn't improve, and isn't really able to be covered up with high street products anymore. If it was anywhere but my face I don't think it would cause me any concern.

The creams mentioned up thread, they are prescribed by your gp? Are they working for you?

I mentioned the creams- yep my GP prescribed them and they did keep it at bay but if I forgot them for a few days the flushing would start up again. The only thing that got rid of the thread veins was the laser, that worked wonders.
