Can anyone help me find a shoulder bag for 10 year old dd?

She is really fussy Hmm

She needs a bag big enough for a book/kindle plus a few other small bits and pieces for when we go out for the day so we don't end up carrying her stuff around for her!

She isn't in to any particular brand but hates anything flowery/spotty, any patterns at all really. Think she'd probably go for something plain tan leather but I obviously don't want to spend a fortune. She doesn't like satchel style either.

Any ideas please?

What about this sort of thing in tan, if you don't want to spend a lot?

I recently bought a bag from Zatchels for my 12 year old - there are lots of styles of leather bags, not just satchels. They are usually half price. It took a few weeks to arrive but she was very pleased with it.

I've heard of Zatchels, what style did you buy notso?

My 10 yo DD has a rucksack for this purpose. She takes an assortment of books/binoculars/string/conkers/rocks wherever she goes...

I bought one from Bench online, a small backpack that I could sling over one shoulder and was padded for my tablet but still quite light. There is a sale on so the prices are not too bad.

Cath kidston do some nice satchel style bags, some come with a London theme or a safari style theme. I have one and it can hold all sorts :),

I recently bought my 10 year old DD this rucksack from M&S.

DD has a few bags, her current favourite is this but she also has a couple of nice bags from fat face, yoshi, and a Barrel bag from Zatchels.

The Bag linked to and the fat face bags are more comfortable to wear than the leather bags, the barrel bag strap is v thin.

Accessorize?

I think Zatchels might be the best bet. I suggested Kipling to dd, it was a no. Definitely not Cath Kidston, she doesn't want anything with a print.

we went for the microclutch from Zatchels - would be too small for what you describe OP, but perfect for phone, charger and small purse which was what DD specified

notsohot · 20/04/2017 19:20

Like Barchester says the strap on the Zatchel's bag is thin - but seems to stay on her shoulder , cross body ok

Dd has a black and white Adidas shoulder bag high she some time uses for school/sometimes going out. Something like this: www.sportsdirect.com/adidas-enamel-medium-messenger-bag-703034?colcode=70303440
