Pregnancy acne

I had hormonal acne quite bad in my early-mid 20s but it went away when I went on Dianette and then later on Yasmin. My skin has been absolutely fine (albeit with scarring) for about ten years, happily stayed ok during first pregnancy. I'm now 13 weeks with my second pregnancy and from early on my skin, particularly my right cheek, has been bloody awful. Huge cystic acne, big, red and painful which eventually erupt. I haven't done much beyond maintaining my usual skin routine which is pretty good and was hoping it would eventually go away, maybe at the end of the first trimester. Seems to be wishful thinking.

Has anyone successfully used products during pregnancy? Is there any point going to the GP or are most products unsuitable for pregnant women? I can't believe I have to go through this again and get a new load of fresh scars and marks, especially as 90% of it is on my right cheek so looks very odd. Help!

Do you sleep on your right side?
I got bad acne in the first trimester with both pregnancies but it did get better as pregnancy progressed. With my second pregnancy it went on a little longer i.e. To 16 weeks. I used Dermalogica essential cleansing solution and daily microfoliant (has some salicylic acid but it it's topical so I wasn't too worried). I found it improved my skin but there is every possibility that it was coincidental and not the products.

During my first pregnancy I used Belli face wash but I wasn't able to get it on Amazon is time.

You could ask your Gp if it is leaving marks or really bothering you.
