I really love le I his dress - but...

I really like this dress, but it's 100% polyester. I can't wear 100% polyester, it makes me sweaty and I crackle with static. And the texture makes my skin crawl. Fussy, moi?

Anyone seen anything similar?

(And anyone have any experience of shopping with Rosegal? It seems too cheap.)

That's a lovely dress but you may need to be careful of the quality and sizing.

happypoobum · 18/04/2017 19:45

The sizing is the main issue. A size M is a UK size 6.

XL is size 10.

abbsisspartacus · 18/04/2017 19:48

Dressmaker? It looks like a lovely dress

AgentCooper · 18/04/2017 19:50

It's a lovely dress OP, but I would never buy from Rosegal. In fact, I'd be surprised if they've not pulled that pic from another site. Have a read at this - www.buzzfeed.com/sapna/say-no-to-the-dress?utm_term=.vp35xVx779#.ssGaAvAYYN

originalbiglymavis · 18/04/2017 19:50

That's really lovely. Will it still be sweaty if the sleeves are as sheer as that? I might need to. It one to find out.

originalbiglymavis · 18/04/2017 19:52

Woah Nelly! just read that article. The photos are funny though.

CantChoose · 18/04/2017 19:56

The dress with the flowers at the base and butterflies heading upwards is 100% ripped from another site, I've seen it recently.
You could try finding the original seller of the grey dress.

DavetheCat2001 · 18/04/2017 19:56

Very pretty dress!

Strange to style the model with a mobile phone though I thought!

happypoobum · 18/04/2017 20:00

Those photos are hilarious

Well, not really but you know what I mean!

I am sure a wise Mumsnetter can find the original dress......

mrswarthog · 18/04/2017 20:13

I've just got that dress from www.Gamiss.com. I'm 5'11, wear size 10 - 12 & bought the XXL. It fits well & looks nice, it's slightly brighter than the pic.

GoodyGoodyGumdrops · 18/04/2017 21:46

If it looks too good to be true - it probably is!

MrsWarthog Hmm that site looks too similar. Not necessarily in layout, but in merchandise and price.

Doesn't cantchoose know where the real one is from?

mrswarthog · 19/04/2017 06:45

They appear to be linked Goody! I'd read the reviews of Gamiss before I bought and thought I'd take a chance. Used PayPal, stuck to measurements rather than dress size.

With regards to dress, sleeves are open, just attached at the elbow and wrist so not overly sweaty.

CantChoose · 19/04/2017 07:15

buster I'm pretty sure the white one with the butterflies on (in the same section of the site to the one OP likes but a different dress) was from Elsie's Attic - there is a similar purple version on their site now but not the white one any more. If it wasn't there it was another vintage-inspired site, I considered buying it for an event a few months ago. The others are not from the same site as far as I recall, I'm afraid.

BusterGonad · 19/04/2017 07:40

Ah. Ok can't, I'll have a look for something similar, I know the pain of liking something only to not be able to get it! Grin

GoodyGoodyGumdrops · 19/04/2017 12:55

That's good, mrswarthog. Unfortunately, if a 10/12=XXL, then a 16/18 hasn't a chance!

So, anyone seen something similar? I've a wedding to go to this summer! Grin

LadyOfTheCanyon · 20/04/2017 11:28

I doubt you'll find something that looks like that that hasn't got a high polyester/ Manmade fabric content given the sheerness of it and the drape. I mean you could find something in silk but that would be £££.
Sorry- I'm no help!
