Can I have your opinions on these potential dresses-to-get-married-in, please?

I'm 5'7", a size 12 but planning to knock a few more pounds off, fairly straight-up-and-down. I want a simple shape and sleeves of some sort but (to my surprise) have also fallen in love with sequinny/beady/embroidered-type frocks whilst searching.

What do you think? And has anyone ever ordered from Adrienna Papell for the US to the UK?

I think a trip to John Lewis is definitely in order then. There are actually loads of dresses on her US website that I love, but the UK retail stock seems to be a bit different to what's on the website. Good to know that people have tried them and liked them though.

I do love the needle & thread one so much, but I think perhaps it might be better on someone a bit younger. It's so very ethereal and I'm...not Grin

4, 4, 4 I lurve 4

explodingkittens · 17/04/2017 21:06

It's not so much about being freezing shades as 'can I really get away with having the whole of my back on display?' - I'm fairly slim but I think you need to be proper sylphlike to pull that off. Also, I'm youngish looking but deffo not a whippersnapper and have a fear of looking ridiculous.

I've absolutely no idea if I'm warm or cool! I have 'dark blonde' boring brown hair, hazel eyes, tend to pinkish cheeks, tan easily - I assume warm?

I am so excited about wearing a lovely frock of some description, though, thanks all! Grin

All beautiful but 1 & 2 are my faves!

EmmaC78 · 17/04/2017 21:11

I like number 2.

LovelyBranches · 17/04/2017 21:21

I love 1 & 2. Beautiful dresses. Congratulations

1,2&4

sheepashwap · 17/04/2017 21:37

1!!!

SesameSparkle · 17/04/2017 21:42

They are all lovely. I'd say order an armful of dresses from those more easily available in the UK. As pp said adrianna papell is sold in JL and HoF. JL and Debenhams sell Ariella. Try those colours to see which looks best against your skin tone. I've tried on similar and they tend to be long, you also need to check whether they need to be hemmed and this is trickier if the sequins go right to the bottom.

Beautiful dresses!

I vote for #1.

WilburIsSomePig · 17/04/2017 21:56

They are all gorgeous! Your 'dream dress' is actually the most beautiful dress I think I've ever seen.

Ruggermonkey · 17/04/2017 22:02

All gorgeous; wore an Adrianna Papell for my wedding. They fit and feel amazing. I tried on in John Lewis and had no problems ordering from AP online.

MollyHuaCha · 17/04/2017 22:07

All are beautiful. I especially like 1 and 2.

tribpot · 17/04/2017 22:13

I love them all but number 4 has my vote. You will look fabulous and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Charleyyy · 17/04/2017 22:49

This is the exact sort of dress I am looking at for my wedding toi (so I'm biased!) They are all absolutely stunning. I've looked at the same stores as you and also Frock and Frill which is apparently going to be bulking up its bridal collection. No advice just love for the dresses!

GotToGetMyFingerOut · 17/04/2017 22:52

Love no 1

Nospringflower · 17/04/2017 23:01

1 & 4 are my favourites then 5.

Voice0fReason · 17/04/2017 23:01

They are all lovely but number 4 is stunning.

Dontsayyouloveme · 17/04/2017 23:16

4 is my fave! needle and thread is just amazing - have you seen this one? www.needleandthread.com/index.php/uk/all-bridalwear/tops/victorian-lace-top

Dontsayyouloveme · 17/04/2017 23:17

Sorry, it's a top and you can choose which skirt to go with it!! Beautiful to say the least!

gingertigercat · 17/04/2017 23:25

2 but they're all lovely

NewPantsforaNewYear · 17/04/2017 23:25

I'm sure you've looked at Jenny Packham. This one is nice.

NewPantsforaNewYear · 17/04/2017 23:31

And this dress at John Lewis

PickAChew · 17/04/2017 23:34

They're all lovely but look to be the same cut - are any suitable for someone "straight up and down"?

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 17/04/2017 23:42

I like number 4. I got married in my late 30s and wore this dress from phase eight - was about £450 from memory. I looked rather fab- even if I say so myself
