Be honest, does my hair look better before?

Hiya, definitely not fishing for compliments! I'm wanting the absolute truth. I can't get it off friends/family.

My hair has been coloured and cut (obviously!) I've had 1 probably closest to the truth from my sister who claimed that I look like I'm trying to go back in time (WRT my age!) as I now have a daughter Sad does it look like that's what I'm trying to do!?

I've obviously changed my username.

Friends/family, if you see this, I love you but need the truth!

I think you look cooler and less mumsy in the second pic. I'd rather get to know that version of you, I think.

Honeyandfizz · 15/04/2017 12:43

Much prefer it longer sorry, much more classic.

Mermaidinthesea123 · 15/04/2017 12:48

I think the before was a bit dull, very nice but can see that kind of hair everywhere. I love the after even though I generally prefer long hair because you have exactly the face to take a radical short haircut. Very few people do.

Serialweightwatcher · 15/04/2017 12:48

I think you look lovely in both

Occadodo · 15/04/2017 12:49

I think it looks AMAZING shorter!!! Very edgy!!!

polyhymnia · 15/04/2017 12:55

Much prefer the shorter one but I do tend to prefer shorter, interesting cuts to 'ordinary' ones like the first pic. Someone said first was 'classic' but to me it's tending to the boring end of classic. Would like to see a better pic of the shorter cut though, to get a full idea of what it's like.

AmysTiara · 15/04/2017 12:59

The second one looks much better. Your hair looks too dry in the first pic.

HolditFinger · 15/04/2017 13:08

I love the new cut and colour, it really suits you! Definitely looks better than the old style. Do you think it might be a bit of jealousy from Dsis?

zippyswife · 15/04/2017 13:57

You are extremely beautiful. So much so that you don't need to do edgy or try hard. I prefer the first photo although maybe a messy bob could be cute. Although a pp who suggested a pixie could be onto a good idea!

NoBetterName · 15/04/2017 14:13

I think you have the type of face and bone structure that would allow you to carry off almost any hair-style.

I think the darker colour suits you, but in order to get an idea abut the cut, we'd need to see a picture of you upright with the new hairstyle because it will lie differently to when you're lying down. The different style of clothes also add to the overall different image. FWIW I think you look less "mumsy" in the second picture, but hard to say if that's the hair, clothes or overall picture.

At the end of the day though, it's whatever you are happy with. Whichever you prefer and who gives a monkeys what anyone else thinks? (meant in the nicest possible way)

EnidButton · 15/04/2017 14:19

I like both.

Where is your dress on the second pic from please?

PuppyMonkey · 15/04/2017 16:43

Er, what happened to the better picture you were going to post? Confused

SummerHouse · 15/04/2017 16:54

Never has so much scrolling for second pic resulted in so little clarification.

Are you assembling fairies, a waterfall background, multi coloured contact, a photographer and a suspension frame for hanging upsidedown on?

NC1nightstand · 15/04/2017 17:07

Yep, what happened to the better picture? You have a very pretty face so both styles suit you, but it's how you feel that is more important. Much more important than comments from family and gorgeous mumsnetters! I love the new cut and colour and I really don't subscribe to being "too old" for certain styles. Do what makes you happy, that's what I say!

Daytona79 · 15/04/2017 17:10

Can't really see style in 2nd phot so it's hard to tell

user1489179512 · 15/04/2017 18:30

How difficult can it be to take a phone pic of yourself in an upright position? Are you worried people will say the short hair is awful?

RyanStartedTheFire · 15/04/2017 18:33

I don't know why you are getting snipey about my comment about the filter OP. It's a very strong blue filter Confused

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 15/04/2017 18:38

Perhaps OP just nicked those pictures off Google images and we've all been had Grin

user1489179512 · 15/04/2017 19:21

I think asking opinions about your hair when your hair is camouflaged against some grass and you are lying down is weird and unhelpful.

EnidButton · 15/04/2017 19:26

It's not weird, it's just how people take photos of themselves now. Which makes me think the OP is at most, mid 20's so it's daft to take any notice of anyone saying she's too old for anything.

Not changing your name from the default User1474467 is unhelpful though.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 15/04/2017 19:28

Unless of course, the OP is standing up and has wallpapered her front room with Astroturf.

iMatter · 15/04/2017 19:29

Dark hair like that always looks unnatural imho. Never met/seen anyone it suited.

The auburn is much better.

iMatter · 15/04/2017 19:30

Lots of conditioner when it was auburn and it would have looked great.

dowhatnow · 15/04/2017 19:31

I like the long hair but it is difficult to judge properly as the after photo is difficult to see, especially sideways.

Fairybella · 15/04/2017 19:36

Love both u have an awesome head x
