Split ends in DD's hair

I have recently noticed that DD (7) has really terrible split ends.

We currently wash her hair every other day, with a children's shampoo then use a tangle teezer and L'Oréal kids detangling spray. Air dries, never hair drier.

I am taking her to the hairdresser tomorrow and will ask to have 3ins taken off which will remove the bulk of split ends although she still has lots of flyaways which are split.

Do you wise folk have any tips on which brushes, shampoos, conditioners or sprays will stop her getting them?

She has fine hair, but a lot of it. Pretty much same as me although hers is more flyaway / wavy. I have never really had problems with split ends though, despite hair drying every other day.

Any ideas?

don't be fooled into thinking you need to cut her hair to rid the split ends. Simply take a comb through and trim the flyaway ends. Plenty vids on youtube if you want to take a look. We use pretty much the same for dd's hair and she has some split ends. I think it just happens over time no matter what you use. Smoothing the hair shaft may help appearances though. Have you tried a little coconut oil then rinse it out.
