50th birthday party

What the hell should I wear to this 50th birthday party on Friday?

It's not a posh affair but I want to look nice. Garden party type thing.

I've put on weight so whilst I though something already in my wardrobe would be okay, old chubster here has developed a plump winter body.

So I have no time. It's Next catalogue so save time. I'm size 16 and 6ft tall.

A maxi dress? You can always wear a shrug /bolero / jacket if it's chilly.

I always find a maxi dress on someone as tall as me makes me look even taller. Like a massive exclamation mark.

Hey be proud of your height! A maxi dress will cover most weather possibilities and is smart enough for a party.

A jumpsuit? With your height i think it would look great. Loads around too.
