Gap mid rise boyfriend

Anyone got them? I'm after some relaxed ankle length jeans but struggling due to my peariness. Tried esprit which looked promising but too high rise. Hush we're just all wrong. Gap girlfriends are nice but I want them a bit looser in the thigh (I have big thighs). The boyfriend ones look right in the leg but wondering if too high rise again?

I love the look of the hush ones on the model but they were all wrong on me (and didn't feel worth £75 either)

I haven't got them, but I am on a similar quest for boyfriends for opposite appley body proportions - higher rise and less fabric to hang off my non-existent hips and thighs. The hush ones didn't work on me either. Interesting what you say about Esprit, as I'm tempted to order if they would be higher rise.

I just sent back 5 pairs of Gap girlfriends and straight leg jeans for all being either too pear shaped or too low rise on me. So I reckon it might be worth you trying the boyfriends too, if at least the girlfriends fitted in the right direction.

I have just ordered tapered 501s (I think these are higher rise) and Pepe boyfriends to try next.

Oo, Pepe jeans. I've not had any of those for years! I may investigate.

I ordered those from La Redoute in their brand event.

Sesame - try Uniqlo's straight-leg jeans. They're high-waisted and slim-hipped. Too long, of course, but can be shortened or rolled up.

Thanks Swedish, Uniqlo don't seem to have straight legs in at the mo, but there is a boyfriend cut that looks like it might fit the bill.

taybert I picked up my jeans order and everything's going back. Of the 2 styles, the Pepe's came out very generous on the hips and thighs, but on me they were at least 1 if not 2 sizes too big, which made it very difficult to judge rise. The finish and wash on the Pepe's was also lovely. Look out for Lee jeans too, if you're looking into alternatives from the past, although their boyfriends are marketed as 'skinny' style.

Maybe I'll get an actual boyfriend, and steal his jeans I'm assuming it doesn't work the same if they're your husband's.

Also, how come they're usually all ripped? I don't like pre ripped jeans so it's limiting me somewhat.

Sounds as if the Pepe's could work. Do you mind me asking what size you are and what you ordered (I realise they were too big)?

The hush ones looked exactly what I wanted, shame they just didn't fit at all!

Oo, by the way, I found esprit ran big too, I'd go down a size if you are trying them.

My boyfriend once refused to lend me a jumper when I was cold, I couldn't imagine rifling through his supermarket specials and I'm sure all the pockets would be stretched out by all the boy crap

I'm a 10 on the bottom and ordered a 28. I reckon they'd be better on a 12, but it's hard to tell as I'm definitely narrower than the average size block, and you say you are wider.

I know what you mean about rips and I wasn't the biggest fan of that look 20 years ago either.....

I tried the hush ones in JL, I had to size down to an 8, breathe in to get the zip up, and everything then spilled out over the top. Definitely not the sexy hush model look....

Well my waist is usually a 10 but my thighs have other ideas... The difference hasn't mattered in the days of super stretchy skinny jeans, but I'm struggling to get slouch on the thighs and fitted on the waist. I'm sadly reminded of all my previous denim woes.

Funny how these jeans just look like a throw on, easy way of dressing and we're both finding it so hard to find some that fit (despite being such different shapes)!

I know, I should just stick to my trusty Topshop Jamie's, I just fancied something different.

Do consider getting jeans taken in, if it's just one small bit like a gapey waist putting you off. I had a dressmaker take some in for me when I was losing weight and it was cheap and very successful. I've been wondering about doing this along the thighs for some of the ones I've tried, but it seems when they're bad they're so bad that even alterations wouldn't save them.

Sesame which colour hush ones did you try? I got the darker wash and found them too slim in the thigh, but reading the reviews it sounds as if the light ones tend to run bigger. So if you tried the light ones maybe the darker ones might be better for you?

I tried the darker ones. I think Hush is too pair shaped for my figure. The shorts were bad too.

I'm currently thinking about ordering some of these to try.... The colours are not as nice in men's though and I'm too intimidated to try them in store .....

Have you tried moms? High waisted, but perhaps a good chance at slouch?

I haven't specifically tried mom jeans but I just don't find high waisted stuff that flattering on me. I think maybe it's having relatively wide hips. They seem to emphasise my tummy more than anything (and it's not like I have a huge tummy really).
