Silly question about blowdries

I thought I might treat myself to a blow dry.

However, I've realised I don't know whether you're supposed to turn up with clean or dirty hair?!

Do they wash it first? Should I arrive with wet hair? Or do they dampen it with a water spray to rejuvenate it?

They wash and dry your hair. But I wouldn't ever show up with dirty hair

They wash it. I wouldn't run up minging straight from the gym but I wouldn't wash my hair that same day(as in 24 hours before) otherwise I'd feel like it spoils the point of getting the blow dry.

Run up? I meant turn up.
