Alternatives to Converse?

What else is good with the mum uniform of boyfriend jeans and stripy tops?! I've had to accept that converse just aren't that comfy. I've got stan smiths that I love but can't wear every day, so I need something else!

Adidas Gazelle, Superga or classic Reeboks or Nikes?

Sugarcoma · 08/04/2017 20:05

I swear by Vans! I much prefer them to Converse and I usually don't find any shoes except proper trainers comfy.

furryleopard · 08/04/2017 20:06

Rocket dog jazzins - much cheaper too if you get in the endless sales and loads of different styles.

10Betty10 · 08/04/2017 20:16

Vans Old Skool. Much more stylish and WAY comfier and long lasting than converse.

Ojoj1974 · 08/04/2017 20:24

Superga I love mine

ElspethFlashman · 08/04/2017 20:26

I'm very fond of Toms. Huge variety in colours/patterns. So comfy.

treaclesoda · 08/04/2017 20:27

Dunlop do Converse like trainers that are a thousand times more comfortable and about a third of the price. But there is a limited range of colours.

If you want a huge range of colours then Superga are fantastic.

Shenanagins · 08/04/2017 20:28

Addidas superstar, currently have great colours on the stripes and very comfortable.

YouWereRight · 08/04/2017 20:35

Vans are comfy.

I fancy another pair of PF Flyers, but nowhere seems to stock them anymore, so I'll have to order from amazon, which I'm not a fan of.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/04/2017 20:36

I love my Converse Grin I have just ordered a navy pair and I plan to steal DD white low-top (we have the same size feet)

I don't like the foldy crease in the toebox of Toms - does it rub?

What about Sketchers?

theaveragewife · 08/04/2017 20:38

Adidas Stan Smith

Greenvalleymama · 08/04/2017 20:46

Ive just bought a navy pair of Hummell pumps (slimmer stadil lo apparently) instead of the usual cons, and they seem great so far.

They're not as comfortable as my sketchers, but they're a damn sight better looking and the sole is more padded than Cons. They're quite wide, so might be a good option for anyone who finds Converse too narrow.

Vans are so much comfier than Converse!

RozTheSchnoz · 08/04/2017 20:54

Hey Dude - super comfy!

WanderingTrolley1 · 08/04/2017 20:59

Vans. Way comfier than Converse and last at least twice as long!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/04/2017 21:42

Vans are too wide for me but YY Converse are a tad lacking in the cushioning and arch support.

Curses skinny long feet Sad

bingohandjob · 08/04/2017 22:35

Superga - I love converse but these are more comfortable for me.

Jungfraujoch · 09/04/2017 10:05

Just got Vans yesterday - more comfortable than Converse which I find narrow, even the mens!

youokayhun · 09/04/2017 10:11

Vans for me as well!

OdinsLoveChild · 09/04/2017 10:21

I like Element. Theyre lovely and comfortable. Theyre difficult to get in the uk though. I think the surfer/skater shops stock them usually.

PNGirl · 09/04/2017 11:10

New Balance 996 are very comfy!

ElspethFlashman · 09/04/2017 12:18

70 no they're smooth inside. They're tight when you buy them and loosen within the first day to comfy amazingness.

Surprisingly warm with bare feet too as the canvas is really dense. Great when the breeze picks up.

DesertRose124 · 12/04/2017 19:56

I have bought some ultra-cheap converse looking trainers from New Look - fantastic at about £8 a pair. I don't find the soles very comfortable either, but add School Gel insoles. They're twice the price of the shoes but make them easy to wear all day 😀

RedheadinCamelFlarge · 12/04/2017 23:31

Another vote for Rocketdog Jazzins here - excellent for wide or boxy feet. I'm a convert!
