Can anyone give a view on how it compares to a parlux? I have one of those and really like it. I just wonder whether a good hairdryer = a good hairdryer or whether the dyson delivers something even better…..

ChocolateSherberts2017 · 30/03/2017 13:18

Watch series 2 episode 3 of BBC1's Shop well for less on IPlayer. They had 5 hairdressers testing different hairdryer out including the Dyson to see which one they preferred. Really good programme.

AutumnEve · 30/03/2017 13:19

Sounds good chocolate. I shall look into it

gonegrey56 · 30/03/2017 13:28

I have a Parlux compact 385. Great dryer but the Dyson is more powerful and seems better for my hair. Quieter and lighter too, and I now never use straighteners as well.

Whatthefoxgoingon · 30/03/2017 18:21

I preferred it over my previous parlux, because it's lighter and faster. At the end of the day, it just dries hair and didn't do anything miraculous with mine.

HappyJanuary · 30/03/2017 18:25

I like mine. It dries my hair faster, and directs the air better so I can style it properly. It looks better, quicker.

I still don't think it's worth £300, but then I never rated my Parlux either.

I bought one and did a review of your interested.

Epic typing fail - if you are interested - is what I meant!

Neglectedbythesun · 30/03/2017 19:44

Apparently the technology dries your hair quicker but at temp that never damages your hair.

EatsShitAndLeaves · 30/03/2017 19:55

Yes - it has a micro processor that constantly monitors the heat so it doesn't cause damage.

I've noticed my hair is in much better condition since using it.

NeonGod73 · 30/03/2017 20:00

No. It's just hot air. Don't get fooled by a marketing trick.

Littlemissindifferent · 30/03/2017 20:11

The Dyson has really good online reviews. I'm so tempted to get it because of the reduction in drying time and better for your hair.

Do you think the price will drop?

user1487015199 · 30/03/2017 20:15

I want one! Have the ghd and don't rate that much

ZaraW · 31/03/2017 06:28

The Guardian review was not great. I saw a demo when I was in Bangkok as most Thai women have straight silky hair without any frizz that they would never need one.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 31/03/2017 06:33

My DSIS has one she says it's good but not worth the money at all.

MongerTruffle · 31/03/2017 06:36

They tested them on Shop Well for Less and the Dyson hairdryer came out on top.

HLBug · 31/03/2017 13:08

Ohh it's triple points in Boots this weekend actually!! So you'd get £35.88 worth of points...not too shabby!

GreyStars · 31/03/2017 13:10

It's amazing!

My hair is in much better condition since having it and it takes next to no time

I'd spend what felt like hours before, my hair is now dry in less than five minutes! Plus I can just aim it in the direction of a small child and their hair is dried in no time at all too :)

CointreauVersial · 31/03/2017 18:16

I can't believe it's worth it.

I don't doubt it's a good hairdryer, and it looks cool, but that's a ridiculous price.

CaoNiMartacus · 31/03/2017 18:40

My mother surprised me with one of these as a gift, and I absolutely love it. Super-fast, quiet, and not unwieldy to use.

sparkle58 · 10/04/2017 13:07

QVC will be selling this at the end of April and it may even be the 'Today's Special Value' at a very competitive price, plus you will be able to test it out and return it if you don't like it!

matthewsmummy123 · 10/04/2017 15:33

Ooooh amazing this has totally convinced me to splurge!

eyespydreams · 10/04/2017 19:51

For some people (eg the short haired five minute dry pp) it would be utterly pointless and a total waste of money.

If you're one of the band with long, thick, frizzy/difficult hair, it is totally worth it if you like a blow dried look. End of. I LOVE mine.
