Low rise jeans - the holy grail?

I am in jeans hell. I have a weird body for jeans anyway: short, curvy thighs and yet absolutely no hips whatsoever and a pillowy post-child stomach that bursts free of anything other than low rise jeans, sending everything else shimming downward in a kind of rumpled fabric mess above my arse. I have to wear a belt because of said lack of hips and pillowy tummy so I really really need to find some low rise jeans, but everyone seems to have stopped making them. I don't have a very high budget, about £40-£50 max and am starting to despair. At the mo I have some mens low rise slim jeans from H&M but they are starting to wear out, and also look baggy as I've lost weight so I need something more fitted.
Anyone seen nice low rise jeans anywhere? I have massive calves as well so have tended to avoid skinnies although they all seem to be high or mid rise anyway. Please help!

I have topshop Lucas jeans which are low rise but unlike all other topshop jeans they come up big so I sized down. They are a slim boyfriend fit. I also have 2 DP pairs that are fairly low rise. They were from the petite section though and appeared to be 2 odd pairs. I can't find anything like them online.

I don't like low-rise skinnies. I like boyfriend or girlfriend jeans like Lucas.
I remember when low-rise flared or bootcut where the rage, legs look crazy long. I wish that phase will come back.

Hi OP, you sound like a similar shape to me. I find Tesco Contour jeans fantastic, very stretchy, mid rise so tummy is flattened and they are inexpensive. I also wear Gap, most seem to fit my shape - try one of the outlets - they also do really flattering very low rise smart but stetchy trousers that are fab.

Most of hollister jeans are low rise

I find top shop jeans terrible for sliding down (another apple here, but definitely no low rise - they slide down so my whole ass is on show!)

I have ordered some jeans from Esprit, these ones here: www.esprit.co.uk/slim-997CC1B802_902 Thanks for the mention of this retailer upthread; down here in the sticks if a shop doesn't have a high street presence I forget they exist Blush. I'll report back once they arrive as to whether they fit okay, but with 99p delivery and (I'm hoping?) free returns, it doesn't matter much if they don't I suppose. I am absolutely desperate for clothes to fit my body, everything I own is wearing out and I haven't bought anything new for ages.

Just an update on the hell of finding jeans that fit, the Esprit ones seemed too low (ironically) in terms of rise and the pockets were laughably small and crap and could barely hold my phone. I have been spoiled by mens jeans. So I got some more H&M mens slim low cut ones and they are delicious and I love them although I'm going to need to take them up a bit even though I bought the short leg
I am going to find it really hard to get used to womens jeans again I think, the denim seems so thin and paltry compared to the luxurious thickness and quality of mens ones. Perhaps I just won't bother.

Women's pockets are indeed shit.
