Anyone else loving The Ordinary skincare range?

I've been using the products recommended by Victoria Health for 3 months now and loving it GrinMy skin is softer and no longer feels dehydrated but more importantly bar the odd hormonal spot pre-period, I'm blemish free. My haul costs around £30 and is just coming to an end so far far cheaper than anything I've tried before. Would really recommend trying it iSmile

Kennington I would love try the 2% retinal, I will pm you.

sergeantmajor · 28/03/2017 12:31

I am definitely going to buy these 2 again: 2% retinoid (makes me look younger) and the niacinamide (fab on zits)

Risky yes just tell them you want to order some of The Ordinary products but need some help & give details of your skin inc any issues - they are really helpful & replied really quickly

I'm ordering the foundation to try. Not sure about which colour to order though, samples would have been helpful.

itsacatastrophe · 28/03/2017 18:24

I've got the caffeine solution for my eyes as I really suffer from dark circles. So far I can't see any difference (only had it a week and ds3 has been very very poorly and not sleeping so I think my eyes are currently beyond help).
Only thing I will say is it really really stings if I get it too close to my eye. Which is crazy for an eye product. I'll persist but unless it performs some kind of miracle I won't repurchase

user1481140239 · 28/03/2017 18:27

Yes! Ive been using the Niacinamide 10%+ zinc then natural moisturising factors in the morning as I get cry oily skin, I love how light the moisturiser is. Then on an evening after cleansing I use the advanced retinoid before my night cream. Can't see much difference yet but love it so far.

Kennington · 28/03/2017 21:16

Yes bobble33 with pleasure

CrowRoad · 30/03/2017 07:17

I was just about to try a retinoid. So you're not supposed to use them in spring/summer?

Kennington · 30/03/2017 07:19

I think you can but I cannot use a high spf and never reapply during the day.
I go for a lunchtime walk and like to be outside so I don't think it is worth the risk for me.
Apparently retinol makes your skin sensitive to the sun.

CrowRoad · 30/03/2017 08:21

Ah right. I'm the same - haven't found an spf product yet that doesn't give me raging cystic spots all over. I don't even have oily skin!

Nicketynac · 30/04/2017 21:48

Has anyone tried the foundation yet? I am eagerly awaiting my order but not sure if I should tone down my expectations.

QuimReaper · 08/05/2017 13:17

I've just received the Niacinamide and Retinoid 2% so glad those ones are being recommended!

I guess I'll use the Retinoid 2 x p/week as suggested here, and the Niacinamide the other days. I've also just bought Liquid Gold, any idea whether that will affect the efficacy of the Retinoid? Should I use it only on Niacinamide nights I wonder?

Nabootique · 08/05/2017 13:26

Quim retinoid plus Liquid Gold may be too much. In theory, they don't act against each other, but both can potentially irritate the skin. As Liquid Gold should only be used 3 times a week/every other night, it should be easy for you to work it into your routine on your non-retinoid nights.

ElspethFlashman · 08/05/2017 13:29

With LG you're not supposed to put anything at all on top I believe and definitely no Retinol. But its very very drying and some ppl use a very light moisturiser over it just for comfort. I don't, but I don't love how tight it can feel.

You're only supposed to use it 2 nights a week max. I only use it once a week tbh.

I'm about to put an order in for the Retinol and the Matrixyl serum as they've both got amazing reviews. I intend to use the Retinol on non-Liquid Gold nights.

dailydance · 08/05/2017 14:06

I tried the moisturiser. A big mistake. I got dermatitis all over my face from it. I went back to Sisley

LilaBard · 21/05/2017 13:44

Reviving this thread to ask if anyone else has got their foundations yet? If so what do you think?
I ordered at the end of March and got 2 serum (diff shades) and one of my coverage this week and am feeling very underwhelmed. Shade match is good but the serum is so runny, both need blended super fast as they dry quickly, and both leave me with dry clingy patches on my face - and I have oily skin!
I use a regime from deciem - CAIS, MMHC, Pore Control, then moisturize and either their high adherence primer or their matte 12 finisher depending on how matte I want my face.
Finding them both so blah after all the hype. Anyone got any tips?

Talisin · 21/05/2017 15:20

I have the serum one and the colour march is excellent (palest one in neutral) but I've tried it out with various combinations of moisurisers and primers and it doesn't last out the working day. Still waiting for the coverage one to be sent.

Itsautumn · 21/05/2017 15:49

I received the serum foundation last week. Colour match is good on me but it is very runny. I used a beauty blender to apply and the finish is lovely but if you are looking for full coverage it's not for you. I had to reapply it in the afternoon, staying power is not that great on me. For the price though I thinks it's excellent.

Fishfingersandwich9 · 21/05/2017 17:33

I also just received the serum foundation and was quite disappointed given all the hype. I found it very smeary to apply. I have also ordered the coverage foundation which has not arrived yet but I'm hoping it will be better!

LilaBard · 21/05/2017 19:06

Talisin that's the shade I'm using, but I have the link undertones one. Its a shame it's not working because - as I'm sure you know - its not easy getting a good shade match on the high street for anyone who isn't varying degrees of beige or biscuit.

Quite like the light coverage of the serum foundation and it doesn't feel like you're wearing anything but just can't get it to work for me. The coverage I found not so runny to apply.

I've tried different primers and a brush or fingers to apply it, but I'll buy a cheap beauty blender to try before I write it off totally

LilaBard · 21/05/2017 19:08

Argh, pink undertones not link obviously

Nicketynac · 21/05/2017 21:08

I am using the serum one, also the palest shade. I have been using one pump, dabbing onto my face, wiping excess off my hands then using my fingers to rub in. The instructions say to use a few drops but it doesn't come out in drops.
I agree it is very runny (not really a serum in my mind) but I like the light coverage. It doesn't settle in the lines around my eyes but after a few hours it has settled into my big forehead wrinkle. Looks OK after another wee rub in! I use their Azelaic Acid suspension followed by Biore Milky Fluid but no primer and my skin is pretty oily (was really oily until I started using that Clarins night time oil stuff plus Liz Earle cleansing balm - thanks MN for the recommendation!)
I think it has lasted ok through the day but I haven't worn it to work yet which will be the true test. I have also ordered the Coverage one but no email yet to say when it will arrive.
