Anyone bought a nice cross-body bag recently?

I'm looking for a nice cross-body bag for spring/summer when I tend to be out and about in the park etc with DD and I need something practical.

I have up to £100 to spend.

I like traditional saddlebags (in fact, the size of a medium-ish saddlebag is exactly what I need, not massive but just enough for wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses, small sunscreen) but I'm not wedded to the idea of that style.

Fpr spring/summer I don't even mind if it's not leather - fabric or canvas can look good and be practical with spillages etc.

I am into bright colours at the moment so anything goes, really - though I still love my nudes and naturals - and the only style I could be certain I wouldn't like is something hippy-ish and boho - can't stand beading or too much embroidery.

I've been looking and looking at eg Gap, Fossil etc but nothing has jumped out at me!

Anything you've found recently, or a good new place/website to try?

Thanks!

Place marking as I'm after one too.
There is a nice plain grey one for £90 at Cath Kidston ( no flowery prints)

Kipling do great bags in all sizes and colours...

I recently bought a light blue Tignanello one. I'm not sure if I'm crazy about it because it hangs so low on the hip. I'm 5'7.5" ... and it still hangs really low. Does that bother anybody else? Have you looked on TK Maxx? They have nice handbags at a lower price.

I have my eye on a navy blue Marc Jacobs one, but I feel bad buying real leather and am trying to move away from it. I also love nudes and black ones. A raspberry colored one also looks nice.

Zatchels? There's a sale at the moment too...

Slightly over budget at £119 but Fossil have lovely bags like this one for example :

Oh sorry re-read and seen you've checked Fossil

namechangingagainagain · 24/03/2017 15:14

Have you seen www.gusti-leather.co.uk ?

I always recommend..... cheap as chips compared to most bags and proper leather.

If you like traditional leather they are lovely.
However, lining is very functional rather than beautiful.

I've bought 2 bags from them.... the first smelt a bit animally/ goaty initially but it faded quickly the second was fine. ( it mentions this in some reviews too)- I know this would put some people off.

this is the Emilia from gusti for example is £36 and rather lovely.

I got a Saddle bag from Cambridge Satchel company which seems to fit the bill - they are £120, but mine was £90 in the Post Christmas sale. Maybe worth waiting for a sale?

I'm saving for this! It's over your budget but maybe you have a birthday coming up?!

I love these bags but always feel my boobs look bizarre with the strap in between them... might just be me

MrsDc7 · 24/03/2017 17:32

Omg that coral Kate spade one is amazing

MrsDc7, I actually think the same and if I put my crossbody bag on in front of a mirror, I feel like I'm drawing attention to my boobs with the strap separating them. I like a crossbody bag because it's convenient when shopping and running errands, but then sometimes I think about the strap between the boobs thing... :/

MrsDc7 · 24/03/2017 17:35

Oh good glad it's not just me. It's fine in the winter when I have a big coat on but in the summer when I don't I feel like I'm making my boobs seem more sticky out Grin

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 24/03/2017 17:44

I am also looking for one! Bought a Mia Tui online but sent it back as didn't like the look of it once it arrived. Really want one which holds a bottle of water comfortably without spilling but can't seem to find.

I am toying with a cath kidston one or this one www.joules.com/Women/Handbags-Purses/Everyday-Canvas/Printed-Tote-Bag/Grey-Bo-Bloom?id=W_EVERYDAYCNV|GRYBBLM which I am very tempted by. Neither has a holder for a water bottle though. Will investigate Kipling. I love the look of some of the Orla Kiely ones but think they are a bit above my budget.

MrsDC, I know.... I'm saving HARD. Haven't seen it in the flesh but know I'm going to love it

Sciurus83 · 24/03/2017 18:12

Just got a lovely small one from & other stories. I think they have the nicest selection of quality leather bags f0r that price point. Heres a link to their current crossbodies www.stories.com/gb/Bags/Shoulder_bags/Crossbody

Chewbecca · 24/03/2017 18:27

I rather like this silver leather bag from John Lewis, only £59.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 24/03/2017 18:32

TooStressy, I really love that Joules one thank you, sadly it's probably a bit too big...

Sciurus, I think the AndOtherStories ones may really fit the bill actually - a few there at a quick glance that I LOVE...
