Long story, but I'm trying to buy a pair of these overalls as a gift for a man who generally takes a large. He's 5' 10", weighs around 11 stone. Any help very gratefully recieved!!!

They are chest sizes. At 11 stone I'd be surprised st large... unless he's wearing a lot of layers. 42-44 I reckon on the basis too big is better than too small

I'm not a man btw... but do work in construction. 😊

Yes, he generally wears them over a heavy jumper, and also quite broad shouldered I think. I was thinking of going for the 44 which says it = chest size 42 (bit random Confused ). He can always change them, obvs, but as it's for a present it'd be nice if it did come out right.

I also wear overalls but am a shortarse rather small so just buy the smallest size available and then take them in Grin

Have bought the 44 - fingers crossed they'll be near enough. I guess they're not a fashion item so size not so critical!

Yep I wear a lot of PPE... at 5"2 everything is too big Grin

DH has to concern himself with body length - 6 foot, 73kg- as they don't need to stay up on the waist his primary concern is minimising the wedgie...

Chattermummy · 25/03/2017 06:57

Do overalls not work in height? I am female but wear them at work. I had to get a large as I am 5'11 - I could fit another 3 people in beside me. Think bodylength is key for fit

DH is long in the back and obviously overlong sleeves and legs are not great either - there's an assumption on proportion that can be a pain...
