After i have put foundation on i feel like i look a bit too shiny even though i have quite dry skin but then when i add powder i look all dry and old .
I currently have bare minerals bare skin perfecting veil , its a pressed powder and i have various foundations .
do i need some other type of powder ? if so which one ?
or is there a particular foundation that would be better ?
I want to look natural , i am very fair , a bit wrinkly , aged 41

A matyifying primer like smashbox light?

Cakescakescakes · 23/03/2017 11:51

Mattifying

I stopped using powder over ten years ago. It took some getting used to.
What happens if you just leave it alone. I think slightly shiny is better than powdery.

I suspect you're using the wrong foundation, a matte or semi matte one would work better. A mattifying primer doesn't really work if you shove a shiny foundation on top of it.

As for powder I swear by channels les beiges. It takes the shine off, but still leaves a dewy finish and you never look powdery. It's expensive but lasts ages.

thanks , so can anyone recommend a foundation ?

I like L'Oréal infallible and Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet. Both a 'natural matte' finish. The Chanel has the nicer initial finish but not as good wear time.

Armani luminous silk is very good
